Couple Accused of Trespassing (on their OWN property)

A Marion County (Florida) Sheriff’s Deputy saw a couple sitting in their car, on their own property, where they were building a new “barndominium” in the middle of a large field behind their home. The deputy pulled onto the property, got out of his police cruiser, approaching the couple, who were sitting in their car eating a meal, as it was raining. There had been no report of criminal activity. The deputy just thought they looked suspicious and that they could be trespassing.

  1. “Its a nice barn” – racist pos! Leave these people the fuck alone, they do absolutely nothing to warrant your scumbag behaviour but these dirty cops do it anyway!!

  2. The cop is an idiot I’m a veteran law enforcement officer myself and as chief I would most definitely fire this guy. He has zero reason to be there it’s daylight no calls of strange activity. This cop should be decertified he and so many others like him give the good cops out there a bad reputation zero tolerance for stupid cops

  3. there is obviously more to this story. a cop doesnt just drive down a country road and claim trespass, usually someone has to make a complaint and say they want someone removed and trespass warned, and then later trespass arrested if the return or refuse to move after warning

  4. Officers are people too. They make mistakes. It’s frustrating.

There was an incident in the vacant lot at the end of the dead end street where I live in the last house on this dead end street.

I came home from work one day, access to my house is blocked by police cars, even though my house has nothing to do with the incident. Nothing took place on my property. I attempt to drive around the police cars to get into my driveway. An officer steps in front of my car, forcing me to stop. I put my window down, he asks me why I’m here. I point at the house and say I live here. He says no you don’t, leave now.

I sarcastically take the garage door opener off the visor, hold it up, push the button, the garage door begins to raise. I sarcastically say oh look! The garage door opener is opening the garage door to the house I don’t own! Amazing! I might want to change my opener code since someone who doesn’t live here can open my FREAKING GARAGE DOOR!

He stepped aside shame faced and said go ahead. I snapped that I don’t need his permission to access my own property.

I should have not been sarcastic. It was rude. People make mistakes.

I’m working on not being so cranky when someone makes a mistake.
