Painting colors in Bambu Studio? I think that’s a mistake. 🎨🖨️
It looks fine in the preview… but on the actual print?
The color edges come out soft, rough, and just kinda messy.
Here’s what I do instead:
I model each color as its own object—so in Bambu Studio, you just assign colors from the object tree.
No painting. No guesswork. Razor-sharp results.
It’s a bit more work up front, but 100% worth it.
Do you paint your own colors?

Excellent
That's nice but I'm not modeling, I'm just trying to paint a model I downloaded so I can print it in colors. Not because I don't care about quality, I just don't know how to model.
I’ve got a question how does the printer assign colours to specific places of the model
Hi
Im slightly confused can you takecaway my confusion please.
Model – object/s
Model is made from multiple objects as their own meshes .
Before saving and exporting what steps do I take!
Apply all transforms for each object mess,
do I then join the object meshes together and export? So when the model/object/s reach Bambu slicer the slicer sees the objects separately but the model as a single object when slicing and printing
A disc with raised lettering on an inset plane/surface
Back and up to top face, black
Inset plane/face, red
Lettering white
What 3d software do you use?
What 3D modeling software do you use
I love this but how do we actually do this? I made a model in Uprint (bambu) and it has jagged paint. All messed up. It looks great in the 3d modeling software (Uprint) but how do I break it into parts and then re export. Id love for you to create a full video.
"During the modeling phase" … lol yea, we all can 3d model…. i would ofcourse paint as i want during modeling phase if i knew how to 3d model….
This is for designer
It would be nice with multitool printers emerging if they worked more on the software to reduce waste by having a master optimizer for waste reduction on the color changes. That would benefit their user base and then they could flesh out their multi material offerings.
this is what differentiates real modellers vs gen AI slop models!
Mais comment faire quand on ne modélise pas nous-mêmes ?
I'm currently trying to find out how to actually create a seperate geometry as part of my object so that i can paint a different colour in bambu. I have no idea how to do this! I'm sure it's not too complicated but if anyone knows please share
For someone who can’t create such original models this is not the solution. What the market needs is a better cutting tool. We need to separate mesh object easily. The current tools are a real challenge to use
How do you do this in tinkercad?
But you are the modeler….those of us who are the "printers" don't have that luxury….If only all modelers did it this way…wow..!!!!
I get a 3mf files from zbrush but bamboo lab dont read it.. whats the best thing to do ?
I tested this and the full shape or model gets printed inside say the head, they dont get sort of stitched as one continuous mesh. So its like the parts are cut, but just printed along everything else, isn't that inefficient in terms of wasted filament?
what if an objects is flushed with another?
mind flayer next
Which program is that
"Are you doing a thing? Don't do that thing! Instead, completely reinvent the thing so that you never have to do the thing! Now, instead of learning how to do the thing, you've learned a completely different skill! But look how pretty!"
That's not helpful. That's the tutorial equivalent of "sucks to be you; skill issue."
also you can print the objects on their own and glue them together if you want –> less to no waste and way quicker.
How do you suggest we do this if it’s a premade model?
Can you make a separate video
But how do I make in Blender?
But can you print without combining all the meshes into one mesh, one single object? Thought it always has to be one single object everything combined
How about de deepness? When a I try to change color the software generate a lot of filament color changes. Is it way to fix that?
Hold on you design this in fusion ?!
