Is the first method the same as the dark sound L dark?
So I'm a native speaker and apparently I've been pronouncing Rs 'wrong' my entire life 😅
It still sounds correct so I'm obviously not going to do anything about it. I do have renewed sympathy for anyone struggling to learn this sound though, it's actually really difficult aha

Does one pronounce /r/ in words like fraud and broad with tongue closer to the velum? It takes much effort for me to pronounce it with the middle part of the tongue lifted towards the hard palate – practically impossible to not skip the vowels coming after the phoneme, – but lifting the back of my tongue up towards the soft palate seems to produce the sound required. Do i practice with the middle part or with the back part of my tongue?

RACHEL, I WAS CONFUSED WHEN I WAS REPEATING WORDS LIKE RIGHT, READ, GREAT, TRY, ETC. AT THE END OF YOUR VIDEO. I DON'T HEAR THE HELD OUT ER SOUND- AS IN MOTHER OR ERNEST. ARE THEY UNDER THAT CATAGORY (ONLY) BECAUSE THE
R IN THOSE WORDS ARE SIMPLY VOICED BEING AN AMERICAN WAY OF PROUNCING. I'M SURE THE EXPLANATION IS SIMPLE- BUT DUH, I DON'T GET IT. PLEASE SAY MORE…. I HOPE IF POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE YOUR ANSWER BEFORE MY INTERVIEW TODAY🤣.
I have doubts about the pronunciation of the word "Cure". I'm aware the this word begins with some sort of cluster /k/ as in cat + /y/ as in yes, so we have /ky/. However, the Vowel sound in this word kind of tricks me up. I don't know for sure if it's /or/ as in more o if it's /er/ as in her. Sometimes I even hear this word pronounced with some kind of /oo/ as in food /kyoor/. It's so confusing. Is there any standart pronunciation or ALL three pronunciation are fine?

good explanation instruction
More and clearer visuals and explanations are needed for students to understand the English pronunciation better. Too much detailed information and complicated demonstrations are not effective IMO. These two things need to be made simpler in this video. Unless you are an expert on the mouth's internal parts and how they function in relation to the English sounds, this video can be and feel confusing to students learning the English pronunciation. Overall, this video is too complicated, and not natural enough. Perhaps it is fine for linguistic or speech students or so called experts already. This observation (and opinion) is coming from a native English speaker who teaches English to foreigners, not an English language student.
