52 years, it never had worked. Now, with the back of my tongue instruction it sudenly worked
I feel like my trill just insulted generations of people
Very helpful, thanks
I have watched maybe ten trilling videos and the comments under each one say, "Omg, I've been trying to do this for x amount of years and after watching your video, I can roll my r's". Yet no video ever worked for me. I checked here and the comments are the same, so I rolled my eyes and watched the video anyway, and I'm here to report that I have now trilled for the first time in my 46 years after the velociraptor trick! Thank you! I still can't do it as an r in a word, but I will soon.
If you could hear the noises I was making you wouldn't be saying "so nice…"
what an amazing video, i still cant do it tho 😞 i dont know how many more videos i can watch at this point
06/20/25✅
WOW!!!!! Thank you so much for breaking this down!!! I’ve tried my whole life to do trills, and now, at 61 years young, I can!!!
If you can't do a tongue trill because of your frenulum it's a pretty affordable surgery. Like 500 bucks. Still expensive but in terms of surgery not bad haha
My god i got it 😮 thanks man!
Thanks a lot I just sound like I'm a dying screaming cat
When I do it, it feels phlegmy
just not working for me. i've tried so hard to get this sound for 2 years and i don't think i'll ever be able to.
my tongue is absolutely huge, and it's just seemingly impossible to make it do what i want.
better yet, i keep defaulting to the uvular trill involuntarily, and i can't NOT do a uvular trill when trying to do an alveolar one.
i can't afford a speech therapist, and no matter who i ask they can't figure it out either.
i'm just completely ready to give up.
This was so helpful. Thank you!
HELP IM SITTING HERE MAKING DEMONIC SOUNDS LMAOO
I look like a freaking idiot trying this
Guysssss this worked!!!!!!! Try to do the same with your tounge then fade it into tounge… As he said not Fully but iam one step closer 😼
Omg, l listened to so many videos today on how to do this to no avail. Yours nailed it! Thank you. The missing link was using the back on the throat and tongue to get the ball rolling. That’s where the pressure builds to get the vibration. 🎉
good news is the velociraptor thing actually worked to get a stronger vibration for the first couple of trills i tried, bad news is i can't seem to do it yet without pretending to be a velociraptor while doing the little raptor hands before trying the trill
AGH CANT DO IT HAHAHABSCEXEFEVSW i looked over countless videos im going through all stages of grief or something hahajbebehejshsh im going mentally insane
I’ve got too much back movement and not enough flexibility in the tip. Coming out much more velar lol.
Anyone here to be jnyxyy
If I could like this twice I would! I couldn’t do all the thrills because my Rs can’t stretch that far, but my Rs sound much better already and I had a lot of fun following along!
Oh this is CRUEL, i just did it once and now I can't do it again, the tounge position is so alien to me XD I have a lazy mouth! I'll need to practice to be able to make the right shape and hold it, at least a few days, but I CAN do it THANK YOU!
One reason someone may not be able to do it is if they have a tongue-tie. It’s when there’s a piece of skin under your tongue, connecting the bottom of your tongue to the bottom of your mouth.
It can be released by cutting it, and it costs about $750 out of pocket to have the procedure done. The procedure is called a tongue-tie release, or frenulectomy, and can be done by a dentist, and ENT doctor or an oral surgeon.
It may be covered by insurance, depending on your area and the level of severity.
There’s also upper lip-ties that can cause a tooth gap, but that’s unrelated lol.
Hope this helps
He looks like Leo Decap.
so helpful although i still cannot do it
MISSING TECHNIQUE:
Lie in bed and tilt your head completely back. This makes your tongue rest against the roof of your mouth. Much easier to get the tongue into position while leaving it relaxed.
Instructions unclear, i am now a velociraptor stuck in a tree being chased by a cat trying to mate with me.
I'm from Norway, and my mind just got blown that there are people that actually have to learn this o.O I just asumed everyone knew, cuz it's so natural here
I think I am one those with cursed genetics. I can curl my tongue but can't trill now after years of trying.
Sir I'm from India,Can I practice lipp, tounge trill lower octeve
That's great. I'm not trilling yet, but the tongue is at least moving on its own from the air. The curve of the tongue and thinking about the back really helped.
And this is where I found out I can't even do a lip tril … 🙁
