Dig into the phenomenon known as the doorway effect, where walking into a new space can make you forget what you were doing.
—
You enter your living room, then pause. Uh-oh, what was it that you were doing? You feel your mission’s momentum wane, and its aim is suddenly lost. So, what just happened? Well, you’re not alone; this is a common memory lapse phenomenon scientists have termed the “doorway effect.” Gabriel Radvansky explores why walking into a new space can make you suddenly forget what you were doing.

I look at my dog and ask him….
😂😂😂 it's true 😅😅
I might as well just go through every door to forget my bad thoughts 🙂
informative video and amazing animation.
Dont even mention counting cause I would do somethinf every week that you can consider to be walking through a virtual door.
Id have to count to 15 every time I pass the door.
And heck, Id split it into 3 groups of 5 to be easier.
BUT I CANT KEEP COUNT, EVER
ummm.. would exam questions trigger even updating?
Interesting
"roomnesia". i work with older people and have used doorways as an opportunity to strengthen and exercise the mind with grounding and awareness in the course of everyday activity. great video.

ADHD hack, Repeat out loud what you are doing, what you are looking for and put one hand up until the TASK IS DONE. Edit: lol they said the exact same thing at the end
Apparently it’s to do with the shape of the rooms and doors being square and rectangular
Actually this is in World scholar's CUP (WSC)
Amazingg
Doorway effect! Ha! I call it too many bong hits but sure let’s be pretentious.
I like this video, thank you
The story of my life.
This happened to me yesterday while watching TV. I saw something interesting, and I wanted to do a Google search about it, but before I grabbed my phone, the show went to commercial. I couldn't remember what I was gonna Google for several minutes. When the show came back on, my original train of thought snapped back, and I remembered what I was thinking about earlier 🤣
