  1. It's nice to know Sarah Marie is still Sarah Marie … and yeh… ALMOST 40 ?!?! WOW

And it took a hot second but BB is FINALLY BACK ON CHANNEL 10 where it started

I stopped watching it because it's full of influencers now.

  2. Wow this was good episode – they're all very open genuine and completely likeable – I really admire Kate (Kathryn) for her amazing career & seems such a genuine and intelligent person – I did remember her on the show but not the guy next to her
I don't think anyone in Australia will ever forget the bunny ears and Sara Marie well, she is such a natural and lovely human
Also was wonderful that millsy has done so well –
    Very entertaining

  3. To each of you who agreed to appear on this episode of YCSY, THANK YOU. In my view, it is incredibly brave to revisit an experience / life chapter that, in substance, didn’t play out the way you were deceptively made to believe it would, and for many of you, inflicted a trauma so unnecessary, unwarranted, and downright abhorrent. To show up and speak of your experience with such candour, from a place of genuine authenticity, is exceptionally brave and honourable.

As viewers, I'm sure we all have some insight or at least a basic understanding of reality tv, insofar as to our perception of each participant being a carefully constructed, strategically manipulated image by-design. The largest, or loudest, or perhaps least favourable element of your personality is identified, amplified and disproportionately magnified before being projected to viewers as a deliberately distorted, carefully curated portrayal of the "character" you didn't know you had become.

Hundreds of hours of footage and a "confirmation bias" approach to editing delivers an over or under-exaggerated, wholly inaccurate version of the person you truly are. And I must say, I think each of you are truly wonderful people, people I would be so honoured to have in my corner.

Each of you shared something deeply personal about your experience and how it has affected you right up to this very day. And together, you deconstructed the bullshit story of "sunshine and rainbows and fun" we were all lead to believe you were so thrilled to be part of. I wanted so desperately to reach through my screen and hug each and every one of you!

I think the greatest irony of all is in realising that reality tv is so artificially manufactured – clipped, cut, stitched, and edited – and that reason alone emphasises why it couldn't possibly be any further from reality.

  4. Sarah Marie gave positive energy to many young women ❤.
I don't know who the blonde lady is, but that's absolutely horrific what the producers did to her regarding her baby loss😢😢😢.Thats sick😢.

  5. That was way more interesting than the programmes themselves. I've seen quite a few UK and US based "behind the scenes" of reality tv series, I would gladly watch an Australian one, to find out about the various production companies and the manipulation tactics used and actually fleshing out "the bad edit" and how it is done. Is there a formula to the archetypes portrayed, all that type of stuff.

Something like Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe – but with an Australian focus! I think all our media and digital literacy needs a boost nowadays. Let's bring back feeling "meh" about some manipulative drama created to polarise us. It is hard to believe this is nearly 20 years old: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBwepkVurCI&t=11s

  6. I knew someone who was on a reality show, they had the same perspective. Nice opportunity, was a nice pay day, but no way they'd do it again.
