F-35-alkukoulutus Yhdysvalloissa
Suomalaiset saavat alkukoulutuksensa F-35A-monitoimihävittäjään Yhdysvalloissa. Koulutus on edennyt suunnitellusti ja Ilmavoimien F-35-suorituskyvyn käyttöönotossa on viime kuukausina otettu merkittäviä askeleita eteenpäin. Lentäjien ja mekaanikkojen käytännön koulutus on meneillään Ebbingin tukikohdassa Fort Smithissä Arkansasissa, jonne on toimitettu kahdeksan Ilmavoimien F-35A-hävittäjää (Joint Fighter, JF).
Ensimmäiset Suomen F-35-hävittäjät lennetään Rovaniemelle Lapin lennostoon syksyllä 2026. Täysimääräinen operatiivinen suorituskyky F-35:llä saavutetaan vuoden 2030 loppuun mennessä, mihin saakka Ilmavoimat operoi rinnakkain F/A-18- ja F-35A-kalustolla.

F-35 Initial Training in the United States
The F-35A initial training for Finnish personnel is conducted in the United States. The training has progressed as planned, and great steps forward have been taken in introducing the F-35 capability in recent months. The training for pilots and mechanics is ongoing at Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where the first eight Finnish Air Force F-35A fighter jets (coded Joint Fighter, JF) have been delivered.
The first Finnish F-35A fighter jets will be flown to the Lapland Air Wing in Rovaniemi in the autumn of 2026. The F-35 will reach full operational capability by the end of 2030. Until then, the Air Force will operate the F/A-18 and F-35A fleets side by side.

Investing billions in F-35 fighter jets is a terrible investment. Pouring more and more money into weapons does not create real security — it fuels an arms race, increases tensions, and makes military confrontation more likely.
Imagine if even a fraction of that money were invested in education, healthcare, diplomacy, climate solutions, and improving people’s everyday lives. Lasting security is built through cooperation and stability, not through constantly preparing for the next war.
When weapons become the priority, peace becomes secondary.

The Gripen is also a very good aircraft but I still think it’s smarter that Norway Denmark and Finland get the F-35 and Sweden the Gripen, they are very good together they both have + and – but they complement each other very well 👍 and it’s not just because Denmark is part of the development and production of the F-35, TARMA making money is different good but if it wasn’t a very good aircraft with some very special capabilities I wouldn’t want us to buy it, National Security comes before making money.
