Guy at work the other day left me a sand to finish job instead of a finish to sand job like I was hoping 😂
whats so funny is all these “ how to” videos utilize perfect drywall, in the real world in new construction esp, you have to come behind some really bad installs and make it work or youll be out of a job in 30 sec.
thats real taping n floating,
Literally just did both last night for different reasons. Usually it’s a time for me and depending on the situation in that moment.
Is there a small batch of mud that I can use or do I have to mix a whole bucket and what brand do I use?
Это было весело,когда ты держался за край шпаклевки 😂
You don't need a power sander it's not that much to sand Melissa was layered on both directions instead of just one pass
👍
WE DON'T SAND…and yes we are a drywall company for over 45 years. Good grief, why do these dudes make videos about sanding drywall?
I've done an 1800 sq ft myself, diy remodel. I had hundreds of holes and joints to sand, you guys barely video one swipe of mud and end the video. You don't show the corners or how it looks if you don't do it right or how to fix it.
tilt the knife to almost 90 degrees and scrape mud flush….its simple…..much easier to add another tight coat than sanding for days
hangin on the fat edge lmaoo
Listen up guys, I’m learning this right now the hard ass way ugh !
I always get hard edges when mudding a butt joint of new drywall next to textured drywall
Now im confused
I always tell them that
Do they not make long lengths of drywall in America? I've seen a number of videos from different people where they have clearly put it up horizontally but have these ugly vertical butt joins in the wall. In New Zealand that would be a big no-no, you order sheet lengths to fit the walls in the house. Genuinely curious as to why you do this.
Unless u skim coat then your gonna see all those lines.. ive always skimmed and if still bumpy then skim again.. then all you gotta do is scrape with a knife and done..
Dont do this
oh, okay, thanks for clearing that up bro.
You Sand O N L Y the edges of the patch, u can wet the sponge and ONLY sand the EDGES…. NOT the Whole patch GEnius…..
I wish I had found this before I ruined my wall.
Great video. Have considered doing something like that myself.
Always love to tell my guys to " screw off"
Doesn't the mud sink into the holes after it dries though
Haven't really seen any DW channels doing this, but my dad taught me back in the day to keep a sponge/bucket. Not just for cleaning, but the wrung out sponge can be used to "dab" and feather out unevenness/buildup before fully set.
So you don’t need sanding paper after this?
😂
😅
Running a line? I do not get it but want to know more how the fuck did you do that?
ive taught myself how to drywall with no experience until now, remodeling my house… a family member with experience came to look over the work and help me…. he sands to finish and it is horrible how much sanding that needed to be done where he showed me how it was done. and i remembered why i dont ask people for help lol
Came here for the info; stayed for the entertainment
So the takeaway from this is to buy a power sander, got it. 👍
Sure new drywall what about patches
Getting into a remodeling project after doing automotive body and paint work… I’ve already done the sanding you recommend against, and I was blown away by how fast an easy it was compared to body filler and primer blocking on a car haha
“I’m just Hanging around” had me dead
Brilliant that's my smart brother😂😂
Still don’t get it!!!
Pristine work!
Do you go back over it after it dries? I always have dips where the mud shrinks over the nails. What am I doing wrong
Just stick a couple coats of British gypsum over the whole wall 😜
Imagine a whole house! As a homeowner I gutted a four family house and installed new 5/8” Sheetrock 9 foot ceilings it took me two years of backbreaking work to pull down all the plaster and lathe rewire the house redo every bathroom and kitchen all done at night or on weekends. I used way too much mud and was sanding forever.
I’m going to remember that experience for a long time.
This is so fkng hilarious. 😅
Why do the screw holes I cover have dimples when it dries?
Which power sander do you use?
😂😂😂you are not right🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Getting it done 🎉🎉🎉
I wish my construction class would've known this when taping/mudding. We spent weeks sanding and the final product wasn't that good.
So what are you trying to tell us
