On December 5, 1945, five Navy Avengers left Fort Lauderdale for a training flight. Their instructor had more than 2,500 flying hours; the other four pilots were qualified aviators in advanced training. Experience is part of Flight 19’s story, but it does not establish why they disappeared.

Visual context: The flying aircraft is a restored TBM-3 filmed at the Hahnweide airshow in 2011. The formation photograph shows TBF Avengers near Fort Lauderdale in 1943, not Flight 19. Charles C. Awww. Didn't they at least extinguish an innocent civilians life that day? Isn't that what training is for. If you can't understand my anger, then you are too young. Period. Grow up.
