Interstate 80 remains closed in Nevada County, and evacuations remain in place as crews continue work in subduing the Floriston Fire. The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office issued both evacuation orders and warnings because of the fire. Under an order, you are lawfully required to leave immediately because of a threat to safety. People are not required to leave under a warning, but officials urge residents to be ready to do so at a moment’s notice in case conditions worsen. Westbound Interstate 80 is closed to traffic at the Nevada state line while the fire remains a threat. There is no estimated time of reopening.

431 is NOT the best detour. It is a winding 2 lane road and when trucks and confused 80 users flood it access to Incline Village comes to a standstill. Drive a little further to 50.

The fire is also moving towards Verdi last report. I got from my friend. The evacuating Verdi, because the fire is gonna be moving fast. Because we're supposed to have high winds at 30 to 40 miles per hour. Once you have those winds at high, you won't be able to fly aircraft. So good luck to you, firefighters who are doing these dangerousions? I bless you and on doing what you're doing.😮
