  1. Listening to a group that I love soooo much….God gave me this song last night when I was worried about the issues of life, after a deep cry this song came into my heart ….now I am smiling. Listened first to GVB(Gaither, Lowry, Phelps, English, Hampton) and then came here to homecoming. 😊😊❤❤

  2. I love the Gaither Vocal Band with all of the different personell. I generally find their arrangements perfect, but this draggy ,plodding arrangement is painful to listen to. No matter which singer does the solo with the high note slide, this is just unlistenable for me. I know this song is about the agony Jesus went through, but it sounds as if the singers are in agony to me. I wish they would sing it much faster. Again this is not to put down any of the singers. This version just takes a beloved hymn and makes me not like it.

  3. We need this today to remember our life with our Savior…Life is crazy and hard but His Grace keeps me going….Thank you Gaither Group for always encouraging us with your praise…

  4. LYRICS

Alas, and did my savior bleed and did my sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred Head for such a worm as I?

At the cross, at the cross, where I first saw the light
And the burden of my heart rolled away, rolled away
It was there by faith, I received my sight
And now I am happy all the day

Was it for crimes that I have done, That he crawled up on the tree?
Amazing pity, grace unknown and love beyond degree

At the cross, at the cross, where I first saw the light
And the burden of my heart rolled away, rolled away
It was there by faith, I received my sight
And now, and now, and now I am happy all the day
    All the day

  5. I have tried this bridge several times. Never been able to do it. I can belt C5s but you have to sustain B then sustain C5 and go down to B and end with a sustained G. It's not an easy walk at all.

  6. With all humility I would like to make the following remark, the clapping of hands during/ after worship or praise is an old testament concept.
In the new, worshippers are commanded to lift up holy hands in worship unto our Lord and savior!
Come to think of it, we can't clap for humans and equally clap for God! His WORTH is so much more than a million claps! And since we can give even a hundred claps, we just lift up holy hands as a sign of total surrender to Him!
