4:08 – notice the detail here that Dom's got his Embry Star on his uniform, but Marcus hasn't. For those who don't know, there were 4 Embrys given out after Aspho Fields. Helena Stroud (given posthumously to Anya), Dom and Carlos Santiago (Carlos's posthumously given to Dom, who then passed it to their parents) and Marcus Fenix. But Marcus buries his at Carlos's grave and has a breakdown. I swear to god if they show this scene, with John DiMaggio's acting skill behind it, this game'll wipe me out before I hit the 30 minute mark in the story…

Firstly this looks absolutely amazing & I can't wait for October. But there is something that I've been wondering, since we are going allllll the way back to the very, very beginning ( IF ) it does well then there is a real chance we could not have a remake of the 1st game.
With all the graphics, the capabilities & etc but most importantly make it connected to E-Day, basically re-do the whole timeline so everything not only connects but told much, much better & again with all the new technology & capabilities it would truly be amazing & maybe down the line have a gears 6… whole knows. Till then we have E-day to seriously look forward to.

This is the kinda game people have wanted for years and yet so many modern game devs have fell short on delivering..

The amount of people who are in these comments saying so many people they played with are no longer here makes me realize how lucky I was to have my homie show me this series a decade ago because he knew I’d come to like it I fell in love with this series wholeheartedly I cannot wait to gear up once again.

Very disappointed why you ask ? The bots don't have artificial intelligence. Gears of war 3 felt like playing Battle royal. Every bot had a mind of their own.

Man I miss these kinds of trailers. I vividly remember being a kid and scouring the internet for any bit of information, gameplay or trailers I could find for Halo 2 and 3 as well as Gears 2 and 3. That stretch of games was truly the golden era. Games just had so much mystique, build up, suspense and aura. You felt like you were actually invested in the ride. They had genuinely compelling stories, characters and worlds that the trailers would give you little glimpses into, showing just enough to drive even more emotional investment and hype. Then when the games came out, not only were they actually complete, finished products, they were global events. I have fond memories of going to the Halo 3, Gears 2 and 3 midnight releases. I remember all the anticipation and then getting home and becoming immersed in those worlds.
If E-Day can capture even a fraction of that golden era feeling, we'll be eating good and I will probably cry lol
