ICE-L is replacing a lot of old IC1 connections…so it is clearly an IC1 replacement, rather than an ICE..

I think most of the things you're criticizing are the responsibility of DB. Regarding the train and the pneumatic noises you mentioned, whether they're bothersome or not is very subjective. We don't know if the resets you mentioned are due to problems with the Vectron or even the catenary… anyway, the video title is very malicious.
0:44 Yeah, no… Essen and München are larger, with ofcourse Berlin being the largest. Hamburg is actually number 4 of Germany, making it even more implausible that it's the sixth city in the EU!
With these talgo sets, i thought DB killed their IC brand.
It sounds like they conform to the general rule for trains: newer = worse.
I sure hope the new Swedish Talgo night trains will have good sound proofing and comfortable berths
Nobody would have been mad, if they'd just called it the IC2. (And the actual IC2 – our infamous "Teppich RE" should have never been called an IC).

Whatever one may say, one sure fire way to all roud development is to reduce India's population drastically. The Math is simple. when the same level of services is divided by a smaller denominator, the per person share increases greatly.

The original requirements for this train were for an intecity train. But during the pandemic DB changed it.

Great trip, and yeah since it using Talgo Train, the classic Talgo problem also can be found here. And yeah, the branding somehow only fit for fare, not the service.

I don't get Germany. Today, I read an article on the website of the Dutch national broadcaster. Basically, Germany is stuck in the past. Instead of innovating, they want to keep doing the same thing they've been doing for decades. 'Oh no, electric cars are coming up. Let's frustrate and water down any EU legislation to ban them, even though it makes us totally dependent on countries outside the EU for our energy needs. And if that doesn't work: tariffs.'
They trains didn't run on time 20 years ago (personal experience), and they've had roadworks (Baustelle) for as long as I can remember, which is a good 50 years. And it's not just the Swiss and the Dutch that do a better job: it's most of Germany's neighbouring countries.
Having a 74 minute delay on a train that is supposed to run somewhere between five and six hours just isn't justifiable.
They are supposed to be the engine of the European economy. It's frustrating that the country that invented the BR 120 locomotive, basically the ancestor to all modern trains, is so stuck in the past. And it affects us all.
