Now that is Texas funny. You don't pay enough to attract people who grew up in Texas and you are too cheap to raise the pay for those educating your children. Now you hire foreigners to teach your offspring to keep your taxes low. H1-B has alway been a scam in the IT world. It is a three year visa. You cannot change jobs during those three years. They have the same skills as many Americans but the visa was invented to "plug gaps" in skill areas that are in short supply for born and bred Americans. It saves rich people a lot of money in salaries and benefits. Many times these foreign workers can return to their native country and perform the same job for the same US company over broad band netrworks BUT when they work from their own country the pay goes down significantly.
Whoever agrees should apply for the teaching jobs too.
