My youngest daughter's English teacher would send notes home; she misspelled words and couldn't write a proper sentence. My question was, how can she be an English teacher. I should have graded her notes and sent them back with a failing grade. My daughter was an honor student, but her SAT score was mediocre. My grades were only fair in school, and due to family problems, I had to get a GED, but my SAT score was over 200 points higher than my daughters. They aren't teaching any more, they've dropped the standards and think that is an achievement.

Well over 40 years ago many teachers were found to be unable to pass high school level English and Math. When there was an effort to establish minimum requirements for teacher credentials on a national level, the NCAA , the NEA and others claimed it was racist. Some Unions are simply the bane of our society – NEA, NCAA, among others.
