When you make a scene so cringe you have to spend tens of millions of dollars to make a movie that retcons it. The cat claws were improvised by Whoopi Goldberg according to her, as if that is something to be proud of.
Someone mentioned in another video that Guinan was a "U". Notice that Q calls her "U" not as in "you". Suggesting that "Q" and "U" are on par enemies of each other. So Guinan is a "U"? Also note that Q suggested that she had went by many names, Guinan was the current one. He also noted that she was a being that they weren't aware of but he was. Also note the hand postering. She evidently, could fight a Q, Wow! And after she postured in fight mode, Q's also was in a similar fight stance. That would make for a very interesting show. Q verse a U.

I absolutely love that it's shown Guinan has some defense against the supposedly omnipotent Q but it's never made clear what that is and we have to speculate. Could she temporarily remove herself from this reality to escape his powers? Was she far more capable than she was letting on? Did she have the ability to somehow reflect back to a Q whatever was used against her? Was Guinan not really an El-Aurian and just pretending to be one? Did the Q evolve from the El-Aurians eons ago so their otherwise unlimited powers were muted against them?
This is favourite episode of TNG, and I think top contender for my favourite episode in all of Trek. I like this scene because it implies that there are things about the continuum that select races are only privy to, the defensive posture to name one.

We know from that time Guinan realized the timeline had changed that she is somehow on a separate plane of existence which might be why Q does not or maybe even CANNOT just snap his fingers and teleport her away against her will.
Guinan is apparently an El-Aurian, which explains her whole living a long life. But what if that's only an unverifiable cover story? She could very well be a race that the Q are "not fans" of.
Guinans people were beaten by the Borg. As far as I know the Borg can’t touch the Q. That pretty much tells us who would win a fight between Q and Guinan. It wouldn’t even be close.
I don’t think Guinan could take any Q in a fight. Not even close. Even a juvenile like Q’s son from Voyager would be far too powerful for her. I think the Q don’t like Guinans people because they are similar to what the Q were eons ago and they see something that they lost.
He threatens to "expedite" her, but she was the last person left in the emptied 10 forward completely unaffected by Q. So many possibilities; can he not affect her? Can she strike back in a way that would legitimately hurt him? Q was definitely projecting by calling her an imp, but that doesn't mean he's entirely wrong either.
This is the only thing the Star Trek writers messed up on. By comparing the black race to a God like being like the Q. Lol if you see the looters and people always sucker punching people. Especially Whoopi Goldberg being a deranged liberal Democrat. What a joke!
The Listeners are extremely long lived, have some kind of awareness of "imaginary time" enough to know when the timeline's been altered, and they scare the Q. Also, they were assimilated by the Borg. This suggests a power that somehow threatens an omnipotent species, but isn't any sort of reality warping or the Borg would already be unstoppable (and more importantly, would never have had the chance to assimilate Guinan's kind in the first place). I suspect whatever it is, it's more of a defensive thing, a sort of "Scranton Reality Anchor" that makes them immune to Q influence. That would make them supreme listeners but not direct actors like the Q are. That also leaves two possibilities. The Borg have the ability to resist Q interference past this point as well as all the collected knowledge of a species of LISTENERS, making them a threat even to the continuum down the line, or the Listeners, on seeing the approaching borg threat, removed their own powers in order to prevent that very possibility.
Or maybe I totally misunderstood Guinan's borg encounter and that world had only ONE Listener on it, her, and she escaped rather than fight because she has a "non-interference" rule for species that aren't reality warpers.
In either case, I suspect the only thing Guinan was able to do to Q in this scene was like… force him to say his name backwards to send him back to his home dimension.
Riker: Computer, where is Captain Picard? Computer: Captain Picard is in Ten Forward. Riker (thinking): Perfect. Guinan'll fix Q. I definitely need to be there to see it.
