Perhaps the most extraordinary question about Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) is not what he accomplished after accepting Islam, but what happened before he accepted it.
How does someone who initially opposed a message eventually become one of its greatest supporters?
The authentic narration in Sahih al-Bukhari (3862) preserves evidence of Umar's opposition to early Muslims before his conversion.
However, the popular accounts surrounding the exact circumstances of his conversion contain historical details transmitted through different reports, and these should not all be treated as equally established.
This distinction matters.
At The Sahaba Project, we recently explored Umar's (RA) journey before Islam, examining his upbringing, Quraysh society, opposition to the early Muslim community, and the events surrounding his acceptance of faith.
When we understand the historical person rather than only the legendary reputation, the transformation becomes even more profound.
Here is a question worth discussing: Was Umar's (RA) greatest transformation a change in his personality, or a change in the principles directing it?

السلسلة رائعة جدا..جدا . ولكن عندي ملاحظة بالنسبة للأصوات كاصوت النجاشي وحمزة وعمر ابن الخطاب والسيدة خديجة وغيرهم يجب أن تكون أصوات جمهورية قوية تشبه شخصياتهم ومانتخيله عنهم ! الأصوات التي وضعتوها ضعيفة وبعضها رقيق لا تناسبهم ابدا ! والصوت له دور كبير في تعريف الشخصية ! كذلك عند قرأة أيات من القرأن يجب اختيار صوت جميل ومؤثر
