Teachers are not teaching they are indoctrinating think of this We will prepare the E-learning lessons and many of the teachers are at the bar the night before, of course can you blame them when they have drug addicted parents children in class…
The more demographic change there is the lower the standard and performance will be.
I'm a teacher. The primary reason the education system is failing is that parents simply don't care enough. Most of them don't bother to come to "meet the teacher", "open house" and "teacher conferences" . This same majority don't help their children at home. They expect their child to get their entire education in the classroom with no help at home. The system is toxic and ineffective, and parents bare most of the responsibility for that. That's a piece of reality most don't want to acknowledge.
One thing I have noticed and I don’t know if it is an issue is how they are teaching the kids. I tried helping my second grader son on his math homework and I can hardly even understand it. It took us four steps just to subtract two numbers I don’t know if that’s the norm these days but parents have been told they need to help their kids at home. How can we help them when we don’t even know half the stuff our kids are being taught anymore. It’s not your basic arithmetic anymore.
If only we had a president and First Lady committed to this concern….sadly we don’t.
The teachers union is 100000% responsible.

Notice the cycle? Tax dollars pay teachers salaries. Those salaries pay the union. The union donates to democrat politicians. Democrat politicians vote to give the teachers higher salaries. It's a racket!
We need to get rid of "no child left behind". We also need a better more efficient way to fire bad teachers.
When the test scores continue to decline, and the colleges and universities say their students CAN'T READ and their students CAN'T perform basic math computations. Parents are angry and confused about what is being taught in the public school systems

My parents were a teacher and principal. Both applauded my choice to homeschool my four children in 1990. Some years all I had was $100 to purchase new items to add to exiting curriculum. All four went on to college, three graduated magna cum laud. All got good jobs. Money is not the issue. I substituted for years and saw more and more money go into specialized programs, insurances, security, lawyers and athletics. The lawyers were for all the cases brought by parents offended that their children were held accountable for their rebellious behavior.

One- the secretary of education cutting on programs in education does not help. Two- parents dont teach the essentials at home. Respect adults how they will learned. Charter schools are the worst, they only want to have kids with no behaviors if not the kid is sent back to their homeschool isn't that convenient.
My son is honors gifted in public school. They dont need more taxes. It starts with the parents.
