Imagine a planet where glass-like particles may rain sideways! HD 189733 b is a giant planet far outside our solar system. Scientists think its atmosphere may hold tiny silicate particles, the same kind of material that makes glass, and the winds there are extreme. So instead of falling down, those glassy particles could be blown sideways across the sky.
Here’s the catch: this comes from observations and models, so nobody has directly seen glass rain. The visuals in this video are artist’s impressions.
