How to build a Ford F-150 Lightning? – Full Factory Tour!

I’m a HUGE fan of electric trucks – This video is not sponsored. I flew myself out to Dearborn Michigan to see exactly how the new Electric Ford F-150 Lightning is manufactured. The body of the new truck is actually conveyed in from a separate building using above street passageways. SUPER cool. Ford says the goal is to be manufacturing the F150 Lightning at a yearly rate of 150,000 trucks a year by the end of 2023.

The F-150 Lightning just won the 2023 MotorTrend Truck of the year – so lets see how that truck is built.

  1. Thank you Ford Union Workers! I've had my Lariet Lightning for a month now, and I can honestly say it's the best vehicle that I've ever owned. Thanks for your work! To be honest I was considering Telsa until Elon went crazy. No regrets! Love this truck.

  2. What I found very interesting was the charging of the truck at a level 4 speed with 480 volts 3 phase and 230 amps and went from 20 percent to 80 percent in a half hour .
It would have been interesting to know if this was the extended range or standard . If it was extended that would have been quite impressive . It also would have been interesting to see the charging curve . Read a article where it's beneficial to charge the lithium battery at high power from the first time as it takes some of that lithium and crystalize it to the electrodes or cathodes . I don't exactly remember but it was said to improve battery longevity .

Can't find anything on the net of level 4 charging at the factory

  3. 1 question i had is simple, do the AGV's get a top-off charge every time they pause at a station, or just when the system tells them to??? or do they have charging bays they return to after a shift, and another set comes out to replace them?

  4. Do you suppose at the end of a long hard day all the robots get together in the robot break room
with a cup of coffee & a cigarette and complain to one another how much their tired ol backs hurt
after a long day of lifting & moving heavy components? I see unionization coming.

    !

  5. No wonder ford sucks LMAO. I wouldn’t hire any of those workers to shovel my god damn snow… wow, chick at 7:40 doesn’t belong there, isn’t having your hair like that a safety issue, a major safety issue.. im from Detroit bro, and let me tell you, the unions have destroyed these companies in terms of quality
