I am currently making a college project where I NEED TO CREATE an rpg game like D&D. I have no clue how to play or how it works and I am reading the guides, charts and books provided and I am still a bit lost. and I need to deliver the map on monday. How big a map for these games should be?

The first campaign I ever played had a ‘set plot’ but only kinda because it’s dnd. Anyway, we (the characters) were all sent to hell, but escaped to heaven and were then convincing or forcing people in heaven to sin and therefore go to hell. I think we eventually got to god and his angels and stuff and it ended there.

Genuine question: Why can't you just give your character maximum score/modifier point thingies, to make them OP & able to score high with every roll?
