How about people's names start with R. Should we pronounce as H such as Ricardo, Ronaldo -> Hicardo? Honaldo? Is that the correct pronunciation?
Thanks for the lesson ❤
Muito obrigado, Bea. With regards to the pronucniaton of the letter "r", there are similar variations in Dutch, depending on the region and speaker. In Dutch the most common forms are a "rolled" or "trilled" r from the front of the mouth (like Spanish), and a guttural or uvular r from the back of the throat (similar to a French or German 'r'). Many speakers also use an English-like "r" sound at the end of words.
thanks I practice😊
Hi teacher in words like "vermehlo, Pernambuco, Uberlândia, permanecer, garganta, gargalhada" etc we can choose from the 3 "r" pronunciations ? Thanks so much
This helped me a lot. Muito obrigado.
You are a wonderful teacher !!!
Excellent lesson ❤
Who am I kidding. I'll never learn Portuguese. But I'll try.
What is your dialect? Since you did pronounce the S at the end of the word or syllable like how people from Sao Paulo usually do…. but pronounce the R differently from them anyway.
Novamente, obrigado.
Legal… obrigado..
You said the r is pronounced like the American h when its at the beginning of a word, but why does that not apply to "roxo" aka the color purple?
Hey, thanks for the great insights, what is the carioca pronunciation of R when at the end of a word, or in the middle.. is it always the same as _rr_?
Valeu pra lição.

The person in this video pronounces the letter r in words like Ferramenta, Carreira, Realmente, Rapidamente, Respeito like Spanish and not like French
Muito obrigado. I managed to pronounce the tongue twisters 😅 although I often have difficulty hearing the definite and indefinite articles between words in Portuguese , such as “pregou um prego”.
A very important lesson! Adoro as suas aulas Bea 😘
👍👍👍
You are a great teacher ☺️ and nice person and funny … Really you improve my language skills every time
Interesting lesson! I once said 'Rio de Janeiro' and the guy said whaaat?? and I repeated 'RIO DE JANEIRO' lol He replied no no no.. it's 'hiu dji janeiru' I didn't ask much about the R pronunciation… Thank you for making this!
