How do you use instant yeast versus active dry yeast? 👩🍳 Gemma Stafford explains the difference between the two and how to get perfect results every time.
✨ Instant yeast has finer granules, activates quickly, and can go straight into your flour—super easy!
✨ Active dry yeast has larger granules and needs to be dissolved in warm water with a little sugar to “wake it up.”
Either way, both give you soft, squishy bread if used correctly.

I just used bread machine yeast because someone said it can be used in place of instant. I’ve always used active dry. But I got these weird hard tiny spots on top of my rolls? Is that because it didn’t mix well enough in the dough?
AY GIRL DONT FORGET HOW MUCH OF EACH FINE AND LARGER GRANUALES
How about the label "Instant Dry Yeast" 🫠
Hi
Thank you for this quick video. You helped give me a set of brains. Lol
My activa dry yeast is not working well i mean not wake up
Uhm. We have a chunk/block of yeast over here that we gotta weigh lol, its not powdery either.
Can you also tell the difference by timing them?
Hmm so what does it mean if it says instant dry yeast
What if it doesn’t foam up??
funny enough, I've been using cold or room temp water, mixing it, and putting the dough in the fridge for tomorrow, with the same results.
Thanks was wondering if it was a huge difference to a recipe
Who tf in this day and age would use traditional yeast? 😫
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you for your brevity, it is much appreciated.
Thank you so much for this explanation! 👏🏻👏🏻 I bought both types, but didn’t know which one to use for recipes I saw online! Cheers!🧑🏻🦰🇨🇦
THANK YOU SO MUCH MA'AM FOR A VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEO…….
But what is the ratio when using instant vs active? Do we use less?
SO with the instant dry yeast you don't need to add the water until you are ready to bake?
Finally someone get it right to the point no bullshot
No problem, all the same
Thank you😊
Curious if I have instant yeast and I proof it is that okay?
How much water and sugar?
I threw away my wrapper and put the yeast into a clean glass container. I feel like it said instant yeast but the granules are big and not fine… 😵💫 I'm soaking them and they rise so I'm confused
Just what I was needing at the moment!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How warm is warm? I always seem to mess up and not get the temperature right – is there a specific number range?
Oooh. I need a good bread video. I've got a bunch of dry and instant yeast that I have no idea how to use.
Maybe I can start with buns or rolls. Any good videos for me?
I never knew the difference and how to use them. Thank you very much!
Nice tip ty❤
