FD is saying something that’s uncomfortable, but necessary to acknowledge. Internet politics is not the same thing as real-life politics. As much as we want social media to reflect reality, it really doesn’t. Especially for Black people.
We’re still dealing with real-world issues that aren’t going to disappear because Candace Owens is a “demon” ruining their lives. She’s a nasty media personality who has no effect on us. The same applies to your favorite YouTubers, commentators, streamers, and political influencers. No matter how much you admire or hate them, they are still entertainers and media figures.
The reality is that while Black people are represented in online culture and we spend time engaging with internet media; we are most affected by the districtractions of it. That makes it even more important to recognize the boundary between entertainment and real life.
The internet can mimic reality without being reality. We have to stop letting online personalities become substitutes for real-world politics, community, and relationships. What happens on your timeline is not necessarily what’s happening in your neighborhood, your workplace, or your actual life. Black people are most in the trenches and taking the internet seriously is a fundamentally white thing. And we're not white.
There seems to be an underground movement developing to slowly get people off the internet. (Or at least off social media)

I totally agree with you. I swear most of the black people around me went full MAGA or FBA within the past few years. It’s nuts. We have two black churches up here in the mountains of Maryland and every single one of them spew MAGA talking points and collect money to support the IDF. I learn from FD too. However, his failure is reparations. He has a real white supremacist perspective. He believes that people need to be taught about their money. Which isn't necessary or fair. I forget everything divisive he's said but policing or withholding reparations based on some people's inability to manage their money doesn't mean you don't support them in getting said money. White people want to control how we spend it too that's why they go to pastors to get guidance or to sign off on how we receive & spend our "inheritances" 🤬

It's amazing how people choose to miss the point on simple ideas. Pushing back/setting the record straight/debunking is an industry in its own right. Its main purpose is to make money for creators. It does not change minds in any significant way. That is not the point! The point is to provide catharsis for the audience by mostly preaching to the choir. Secondarily, the audience may learn a few points that they can use in an argument they will have with a neighbor whose mind they will likely never change. Very little of it is meaningful. Thinking otherwise makes you a mark.

Yeah I think that's what was annoying me in the back of my head when I watched FD's video. While I understand that what these pundits are doing could be K-Fabe it doesn't change the fact that some of the marks could react very violently.
