Kate grew up with parents who struggled with crack cocaine addiction. With little supervision or support, she experienced years of neglect that affected her physical and emotional health, including her teeth.
Kate shares how her childhood affected her well into adulthood, why she eventually made the decision to have all her teeth removed, and what she wants parents struggling with addiction to understand about its impact on their children.

Your a survivor!
…Congrats – you just make me vomit. That was not quirky; it was disgusting.
I watched this girl on her channel not even knowing her story!
I checked her out after getting partials(dentures) 18 of my healthy teeth were pulled years after the concussion from a large IED damaged my jaw bone.
Definitely subbing this channel.
No judgment ❤
Fighting and arguing also takes a toll on teeth, because if you "bite" people while having cavities it hurts more, so it is a defence mechanism of the body, that if you wish to bite others and hurt them, the teeth will get sharp-edged by building cavities. Because my kids also have little oversight regarding their teeth hygiene, when they are small the teeth will obviously fall out one day and new teeth will grow, so it isn't important then, it is more important to train them to coexist peacefully with one another… As they more easily get into fights and arguments naturally cavities are part of that, wether they clean the teeth or not. I check the teeth to see wether the conflicts are dealt with= becauce the cavities stop growing. So they are not completetly free of cavities, but it is usually just one or two teeth effected, the rest of the teeth is fine. Obviously they won't boycott brushing teeth, but brushing teeth is not to prevent cavities, it is to feel comfortable with yourself. Plaque doesn't feel very pleasant, and it often leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth by the next morning. But there is also gum that helps with tooth health, we use that too.
Does anyone else think she looks a bit like the late Jane Marczewski, aka Night Birde? Beautiful.
I tried like hell to get my teenage son to take his oral hygiene seriously gut they grow up to the point where you can’t pin them down to brush their teeth for them like what we would do when they were 5. I bought this kid every gadget known to man every fun toothpaste flowers I was incessantly annoying and he still ended up losing 10 teeth at 17. It hurt my mom heart so bad I feel like I failed I guess this was something he had to learn the hard way.
You survived so much, having to wear dentures is nothing in the grand scheme of things ❤❤❤ you are incredibly brave (and powerful) for sharing your story, and surviving the life your parents unfortunately brought you into.
