Adam is the subject of a lot of jokes and memes but I think he is head and shoulders above most food youtubers in terms of practicality, ease of understanding, and good recipes. His journalism training really helps there
Copycat
It's a really good recipe. The pan frying technique is so helpful. Makes it cook a lot faster and solves the problem of the white meat cooking faster than the dark meat
Adam ragusea doesnt always hit- i would know, its taken some time for me to learn my tastes are a little less acidic than his. But i cant understate how useful his technoque and outlook have been for me as a cook
Cast irons are the greatest thing i dont see enough normal people using. I spend large parts of the year traveling and staying in extended stays for work. The provided pans always stink. A basic cast iron is cheap at most stores and is lightyears better than a cheap steel pan. I cook almost everything in it. I think too many people make it out like the seasoning has to be treated like a baby though. Cast irons are like the tank of pans, I abuse mine and its never let me down.
Looks almost like a hybrid of Jamie Oliver with the slitting of the dark meat and Kenji López with the pan frying the dark meat prior to roasting . Very Nice !
That chicken was dry 🤷🏽♂️
I am used to hearing terrible things about all my favorite youtubers. It is nice to see that people actually appreciate Adam Ragusea the same way I do.
Agree, best way to cook a bird. Easiest and cheaper is, ofc, just buying a rotisserie chicken.
Yum
Bullshit…. oh and clean you frickin oven
Looks like garbage.
Is that still feathers on the chicken leg ?
Love when other YouTubers call out (in a positive way) others
My favorite part about Adam Ragusea is that he makes food that normal people can make. No fancy equipment, no super expensive ingredients (usually), and he often prioritizes efficiency and using the least amount of dishes possible.
prepping your chicken in the pan you're cooking it in is so smart and seemingly obvious Ive never thought of that and now going to do it every time
I'm so glad I found Adam, because not only are his recipes great, his videos are even better, so you can just watch the videos for entertainment, while also gaining cooking knowledge
you burnt the garlic powder
I love this recipe. I figured out a good keto friendly version of the gravy as well. Use equal amounts of almond flour and then use about quarter of a cup of plain Greek yogurt mixed with a quarter cup of water and then make the rest of the gravy with chicken broth. It’s tangy and super delicious. 🙂
That is not scoring, that is mutilating
Chicken looked ok but I can bet it was super bland! You put more seasoning in your sauce than on that chicken! You must like tasting just meat🤢🤮
How large of a cast iron is needed for this
This is literally the only way I roast a chicken now. It's all single pan, then cooking first on stove for dark meat so ensure a juicy breast white meat is pure genius.
I don't want it. Sir pepper ain't seasoning .
And still full of feathers check.
Please pluck that feather 😂
The comments apparently watched a different video than me. This looks like a 10/10
Nah my dude, that was not enough seasoning, and from what I can see, you didn’t really season the meat under the skin. I would recommend a marinade, really helps get the flavors distributed.
I mean, yeah, it's not enough seasoning…
Life hack: add more to taste…
Disgusting you didn’t took the feathers away
YOU DIDN'T EVEN REALLY SEASON THAT BIRD!! YOUR FOOD IS BLAHHHH!!
That ish ain't even seasoned, nor was it washed properly. And it doesnt even look like it was baked long enough either 🤢🤮
your stove and oven is filthy
Like you, I have always disliked white meat because it's so dry. I will have to try this.
My family uses adams recipe every thanksgiving and it works great always
With that scary little bit of seasoning, one thing I can tell you for sure, this guy is NOT cajun😅
"Meh, it'll never work." ???? …What the hell did you THINK was going to happen when you cooked the bird? I stopped the video here because you seriously must just be a dumbass if you saw that guy cook a chicken and you're like "PFFT, a hot skillet and a hot oven? How could THAT cook anything? Thats witchcraft!l
I love Americans. Just salt and pepper.
How long does it take to cook the chicken 🐔? What temperature 🌡?
👀so dawn delicious ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Love
I always prefer white meat done right over dark meat. Yes dark meat is easier and safer but the risk of white meat yields a much higher reward that isn’t even hard to learn
Show the burnt back 😂
The salad wasn't up to the level of the bird y'know
