ALRIGHT FRIENDS!!! This video has been foretold by the prophecy, lol. I have always wanted to try “folk painting”, so we FINALLY are.
This might be a dangerous new craft for me, heeeheeheee. ANYWHO I am taking this $10 trunk I found at the thrift store and transforming it into something a little more whimsical.
I hope this lets you take a nice breath and enjoy some autumn vibes.
I’m off to Dragon Con!!!

  1. Here’s a persona for ya – ‘Fiesty nun in medieval cloister just painting the shit out of them books’ – Wow! enjoy watching you just flow in your art right in front of us! So great to see ❤

  2. Me making that – Sand everything, 2 coats primer. Measure for motifs, draw motifs – create stencils (because it must be perfect), test different color pallets, agonize over details= drive myself crazy. You – effing – freehanded- that, just having fun.

  3. If you want a good thing to type to find reference for this style have a look at canal boat/narrow boat painting. Lovely simplified flowers on dark backgrounds and also turns up a lot in functional pieces like buckets and jugs.

  4. I absolutely love this but the nerd in me has to comment…you made a fertility themed chest. Frogs and rabbits (along with all the plants) have long been linked with fertility in many cultures…and even the chest could be considered a small marriage chest, which is also linked with fertility and prosperity and continuing the family line XD

  5. Perks of black: spills don't show as obviously so you (me) don't look like the super messy eater you are

Downside to black: the fact that you're covered in fur is more obvious because any fur that's not black is gonna show

  6. I got 2 little kittens a few weeks ago and one of them (Thimble) absolutely loves your videos, he will sit on my lap and purr when i put you on 🥺

  7. I love it, it's perfect.
Also, I fully believe if y'all ever have kids that you'll announce it a year after they're born with an "I'VE MADE THE ULTIMATE LITTLE GUY" and then a normal video

  8. It looks wonderful and adorable but I do think the thing that is "missing" is some contrasting color. It needs green tones or maybe a medium sky-blue as accents. Then it'll have that very colorful folksy art style 🙂

  9. The style of the unicorn chest you showed comes from Pennsylvania Dutch folk art, I believe it's called Fraktur (although that might just be the Pennsylvania Dutch art on paper)
