I Tried The Internet’s Most Viral Recipes (One Is Fake?)

I’m back testing another 5 viral food recipes from the internet to see if they’re actually as good as they look! This time we’re making homemade Jiffy Pop popcorn, crispy potato cheese waffles, chocolate banana fries, a viral air fryer lamb kebab and some rather sticky Halloween spiderweb cookies.

Some of these recipes genuinely surprised me, one involved a broken waffle maker, and another left me wondering whether the original viral video was entirely genuine. As usual It’s amazing how easy everything looks when somebody squeezes it into a 20-second clip!

Which one would you actually try at home?

  1. I spent 15 seconds googling how to make marshmallow cobwebs and found out how it's done. Combine that with not even bothering to do the M&M popcorn to see what would happen, which defeats the purpose of doing viral recipes. I don't understand the constant shortcuts.

  2. I guess something like skittels or wine gums could work to color/flavor, ad least I have seen that on the internets. I like my popcorn with roasted chicken saesening, but ad the spice after, it might burn.
I buy mince ad my local turkish store.

  3. Did the homemade Jiffy Pop recipe specifically say to use M&Ms? They look like they could have been Skittles, which would explain how they colored the popcorn and where the purple came from.

  4. Yea, that colored popcorn was bought from a popcorn place. They make popcorn covered in fruit flavoring, like strawberry, grape, cherry, lime, etc. I’ve seen that exact thing at a popcorn shop in Fort Lauderdale, FL. But wrapping it in foil to pop def works. I used to melt butter, marshmallows and some brown sugar in the microwave and pour it over my popcorn! Sooooo good! Be warned, though…you have to take it to a higher temp than just melting it slightly. But it is freakin awesome!

Someone did those donor kabobs but in the oven and it worked well. It does make a lot of meat though. It seems easy and delicious! I’m hungry now. 😂

  5. As someone who's worked at a cinema for over a decade, the popcorn colors absolutely would not have worked. Those colors would have all have to be made individually. Also, from my experience, the bananas are easier to dip and get out if they're frozen

  6. m&m's will not color the popcorn it just turns into a mess of color mix but it is tasty! to many potato's Barry! i do that hack with my sandwich press… its not really a hack my grandmother in the 70's made potato cakes like that in her old giant 10" waffle iron. "granny used leftover mash" you can mix lots of things in with the potatoes. for best results cut the taters in halves (add a teaspoon of flour or panko with cheese) or slightly mash them in your hands and form a patty! i use a spritz of the "bakers joy" cooking spray. you can use cake , jiffy cornbread mix to! but if you make 2 then you can make a grilled cheese with the "potato cakes".. an yes that was marshmallow fluff.

  7. I was born in the early 60's and we were fairly poor (although I did not know that until I was a teen.) We (by We, I mean Mom) had the capability of making standard popcorn, in a pan, with dried kernels and oil and for probably one fifth the cost, but it never quite had the same magic in my then-child's mind, as that incredibly inflating hood of aluminum that even my Dad could manage. (Yeah, back then most family men did not cook, and could use their incompetence as a badge of honor. It made the modest success of Jiffy Pop even more monumental.)
I doubt the colorful corn was real, because we used to actually have colored popcorn, which looked good in the jar before popping, but the only part to retain the color was the little bit of shell that eventually stuck in your teeth/gums.
In the 70's, we used "shell chocolate"- the stuff used for coating soft served ice cream cones, for dipping previously frozen banana quarters (we placed a skewer/stick/toothpick into the banana before freezing.) The coating would harden immediately, and they were truly delicious! I don't understand the salt thing, but I bet it's tasty.

I can make cookies, and actually have some candy eyes and marshmallows, plus I have some heat resistance and know how to use gloves, hmmmmm…..
Much of this was a wonderful trip down memory lane, but I am a bit old, a bit nostalgic, and very thankful for your extremely enjoyable presentation of stuff I didn't (previously) know I missed.

  8. Next time you want to burn your fingers on hot stuff right out of the microwave…… maybe try spoons… You are the gadget guy…. you should really try some. Many stores have them and they are not that expensive.

  9. When dealing with sticky things on your fingers, try spraying them with oil. Non stick spray. It really helps. You can also wear a pair (or two) of gloves to help with the heat.

  10. You can use forks to make the cobwebs as well i dont know how but i seen it from a neighbor doing it as a bab (pretty sure neighbor i was so young it might have been relative for all i know but the neighbors cooked/baked a lot)

  11. 10:11
In my town, a stall is selling a creature that's a cross between a penguin and a polar bear

my boyfriend plans to sneak it into the Christmas decorations to see how long it takes for his mum to notice

it might be a while as my boyfriend swapped a picture with squidqards bold and brash, and she never noticed till someone asked why squidwards painting is in a picture frame

  12. I need to remember your kabobs are shawarmas aka gyros and i forget about any other word for it that gets used in america

    American kobobs you call skewers

  13. You forgot to butter or as some use that i am against pam the new waffle maker

Never use one of those without something that helps remove what you cooked that goes for pretty much any type of pan but i enjoyed seeing that potato thing worked

  14. I truly believe somebody needs to come up with the idea you just had marshmallow silly string. I think that would go over really good here in the United States. I know I'd buy cans of it.
