Astronomers have found a green star. That’s not supposed to be possible, because stars hot enough to be green also mix all colours together and end up looking white. In today’s video I explain why stars can be green nevertheless. Let’s take a look.

At last! Green energy! 🤔🤔🤔
"What you have discovered, if it has a name, is 'green''" (From Blackadder II)

Our sun is White
note to self.. look for things that shouldn't exists.
The Matcha Star!
TLDR; No there are no green stars.
Scientists: Nah, no green stars
Cosmos: mwahaahahaha!
Scientists: 💀 joke's on us
Sol is a green star… why do you think plants are all green it is the suns strongest wavelengths…. Sol looks white to the human eye in space because all the wavelengths just overload our eye's. It looks yellow-white on earth because the atmosphere.
Nice everyday link with the sodium: it's the same 589 nm doublet that gives old low-pressure sodium streetlights their orange glow. Here it gets smeared out by all those collisions in an atmosphere about as dense as water, so instead of one thin line it eats a whole chunk of the orange. Kind of amazing that one element's fingerprint can flip a star's apparent colour like that.
And all this time, thinking No Man's Sky was not realistic. Please accept my apologies Sean.

Isn't a white dwarf a stellar remnant and not an actual star, akin to a neutron star? Thought stars by definition need to be actively fusing?
If you think about it, if those planetary bodies the expanding star destoryed had life, the color represents the remnants of the planetary bodies that carried life in that solar system. A celestial graveyard memorial.
It's not natively green
We should refer to green stars as either Malfoy or Slytherin stars
A Green Gas Star.. intricate
1+1=1 how come 1+1=2 still works?
Math goes backwards in (its) time(-line)
What math?
That direction!!
😊
Acceleration and the vacuum of space have a very interesting operations' love affair olol

I can imagine the movie scene now:
"It's a White Dwarf!"
"How do you know that?"
"Because it's green, duh."
"The universe is very inclusive" lol, I appreciated that one!
I have not seen a Sabine video forw years. She used to wear a jumper, the same one all the time in different colours. This blouse is great too but different. Glad to get some more pop science!
It’s confusing when these scientists tell us that stars aren’t yellow/red and are always white.
green star gaster in deltarune, built it all in an empty room
Why is it from the International Space Station from a human eye aspect the universe light looks like red white and blue as a hoe???
and yes I'm from the USA but that's not what I mean…
Okay. I've seen this one before.
