Yeah, being in Canada, I'd rather have our own home grown defensive systems. We've got the brains, the supplies and the will to get it done. It doesn't mean we still can't work together in protecting North America as partners. Telesat is a company that has been around for a while but recently is growing because of the investments into our own military satellites and LEO internet/comm systems. I would also like to see Canada having it's own means to launch satellites. There is a huge difference between how much more things cost the US to do anything in regards to space, a lot of it is payoffs and money for politicians to approve these things and ensure a few people get rich. Canada's politics doesn't allow for that kind of grifting, we do have protections and visibility into these thing and a lot of oversight.

StarLink is useful until we have a oroven system to replace it. Same with Soave X. We need it to launch our new satellites into solace. Over 60 new ones to go up will take years. So hold off insulting the provider of services we need. Don’t copy American playbook of insulting your suppliers. Nit smart ir effective. We know we can’t trust Musk to be reliable, see Ukraine, but we can quietly use his services until we don’t need him.
Can’t construction of launch sites in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland , be built with European space oartners investments like Norway, Japan , South Korea, Australia. I appreciate wanting to keep the money spent to Canadian companies, but don’t think we need to block experts from global sources, just USA sources.
