Denzel Washington stars as John Q. Archibald, an ordinary man who works at a factory and takes care of his family. But when John Q.’s young son needs an emergency heart transplant — an operation that he can’t afford and his health insurance won’t cover — John Q. will do anything to keep his son alive. As time and options run out, a desperate gamble becomes the only hope for John Q, as he takes an unwitting group of people hostage in the hospital emergency room. Now as many in the ER need medical care themselves and John Q. faces off with veteran police hostage negotiator and quick-tempered police chief, can a nonviolent end be found to a desperate situation?

One of my only autistic echolalias is the line, "This is gonna turn out bad for you, John." As Robert Duvall the hostage negotiator says to Dezel Washington as the titular dad in the movie "John Q." (dir. Nick Cassavetes, 2002). A great and horrifying film about the US capitalist for-profit health insurance industry that you could remake every year and only need to update the technology and social media story of how the public rallies behind him. Great line to reassure myself with over and over as I do amateur surgery in my bathroom because Cunts Creating Atrocities (CCA)…no, wait, excuse me…Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) Health Insurance Company provides repeated murder attempts instead of healthcare. 😅
The irony of this movie is the fact that healthcare is a disease itself, and this movie aged like the finest wine imaginable

Here after that CEO got his karmic death. Profit must be taken out of healthcare. We should pass an Amendment for universal healthcare.
