Your Yamanote train is traveling at Shinkansen speed! 😄 Both look good, but in this case, I'd go with TOMIX because of the details that can be added.
私は基本KATO派です。欲しい車両がKATOに無くTOMIXにあれば仕方なくTOMIXを購入。先ず後者は車番があるものがほぼ稀でアーノルドカプラー標準、ファインスケールと言いながら集電機構の性なのか接地面とボディとの間に大きな開きがあるんですよね。塗装面のこだわりについてもKATOが私の好みなので、個人的にはKATO推しです。ただ最近品質が落ちてきており電気機関車の動力台車不良や塗装面への異物混入が多いのが、悩みどころです。

Loved this unboxing and test-run video! I'm so glad you've added the Tomix set to your collection. You now have two full 11-car sets of my favorite commuter train line. For me, the Yamanote line is the most beautiful carriage design, livery design and color. Both sets are beautiful, but I prefer KATO's more highly detailed carriages and vibrant green livery color. Wishing you a lifetime of fun displaying and running these two impressive sets! The side-by-side test runs was an unexpected but very pleasant surprise. Die hellgrüne Farbe der TOMIX Wagen der JR-Baureihe E235 kommen den Originalzügen am nächsten. Die KATO-Züge haben ein zu dunkles Grün. Wir haben uns 2019 das Tomix 5594 Video Camera Equipped Train System Set (Series E233 3000) gekauft. Der Zug funktioniert aber nur auf TOMIX Gleisen. Die Video-Aufnahmen sind toll. TOMIXのJR E235系車両の明るい緑色は、実物の列車に最も近い色です。KATOの列車は緑色が濃すぎます。2019年に、TOMIX 5594 ビデオカメラ搭載列車システムセット（E233系3000形）を購入しました。ただし、この列車はTOMIXの線路でしか走らせることができません。ビデオの画質は素晴らしいです。ベルリンより、シルビアとイェンスより
こうしてみると、KATOとTOMIXでけっこう違いありますね。個人的にはTOMIX派なのですが、カプラー交換に時間と費用が掛かったり、細かいパーツがユーザー取り付けなのが辛いです。。車番とか側面方向幕が入っているKATOもいいのですが、TOMIXの室内灯を入れたときのガラスのクリアな感じが好きなんですよねぇ。あとキハ40系統が謎に充実しているのでTOMIXが好きですｗ
どっちのヤマハンドもいいけど自分が買うとしたらKATOにするだろう。
車両と車両の間の連結器がやっぱり気になる
nゲージってさ〜一言で言えばおもちゃだけど、ちっちゃいくせしてただのおもちゃじゃないよね、トレーンだけあって、大人の思いやら、夢やら色んな物運んでくれるよね、だから、カトーさんやら、トミックスさんは天下無敵だよね！
I have a sunrise expres trains. When I was putting on the smal parts on the roof one part flew away not to be Sean ever I gain. When I was in japan I found the part lucky me.

The kato one is also dcc ready. While tomix doesnt even know what is DCC
You should have tested them at re-color or n scale town
I didnt know you could rent two lines at the Kato hobby center. Maybe because you went during the week as during the weekend it's crowded
And I didn't know you could use the sound box on Kato's rental layout. Is that new?
Just bought the Kato set! I also have some Tomix stuff coming from Japan! DF200 set and extra containers and cars. I got bit by the JDM train bug! lol
