Police say Notting Hill Carnival passed “largely without incident”, despite more than 500 arrests being made across the two days.
The Metropolitan Police said there were two assaults with knives – one stabbing and one slashing – neither of which resulted in life-threatening injuries.
There were 315 arrests as of 8.30pm on Monday, bringing the total number of arrests over the two days to 560, the force said.

Knife-related homicides have dropped to their lowest level in 35 years as the government’s surrender drive takes more than 15,000 knives off Britain’s streets.
Knife-enabled homicides have fallen to 26% while knife crime overall has dropped by 11% under this government.
Police should be armed .

Scale that up to Notting Hill and that would be 950 arrests.

As a tourist who always loved coming to England I find it infuriating that I can’t visit London anymore. No one can defend themselves, can’t even carry pepper spray, because guns are evil and if we just adopt the view that if guns are outlawed, there will be no killings, we’ll all be happy. BS. Looks like killers will just grab a knife. At least here I can carry mace to protect myself.

Interestingly no mention of the £300 Million the carnival brings in to London. Toronto carnival (Caribana) had same right wing backlash so they investigated and found it brought in over C$200 Million (£106 Million). So they funded and extended it into a 2 week festival. It now brings in over C$470 Million (£250 Million), and it's a third size of Notting Hill. The biggest event in Toronto's calendar. Notting Hill is world's 2nd biggest carnival. Of course you are not interested in developing the economy, rather chase your tail hunting boat people🤣
