MOTS-c: The Mitochondria Peptide? | Energy, Fat Burning & Performance | Peptide Pros Episode #70smusic
In this episode, we’re diving into MOTS-c, a mitochondrial-derived peptide that has generated a lot of interest in the peptide and longevity communities because of its possible relationship with cellular energy, metabolism, exercise performance, glucose utilization, and mitochondrial function.
So what exactly are mitochondria?
Think of mitochondria as the tiny power plants inside your cells. They play a major role in producing ATP — adenosine tri-phosphate — the energy currency your body uses to function. Everything from walking and exercising to thinking, recovering, and simply staying alive depends on cellular energy production.
As we age, mitochondrial function can change, which is one reason researchers have become interested in compounds such as MOTS-c.
In this episode, Dean and Goldfinger discuss:
• What MOTS-c is
• Why mitochondria are so important
• ATP and cellular energy production
• Why MOTS-c is sometimes described as an “exercise mimetic”
• Energy and stamina
• Exercise performance and aerobic capacity
• Recovery from physical stress
• Glucose uptake and insulin sensitivity
• Metabolism and fat utilization
• The relationship between aging and mitochondrial health
• Personal experiences with MOTS-c
• Injection frequency and dosing discussions
• Why peptide protocols can differ dramatically
• Combining MOTS-c with other peptides and compounds
We also have an interesting moment in this episode when Goldfinger realizes that the MOTS-c protocol he had previously been following may not have been the protocol Dean was discussing. That leads into an important point: different peptides can have completely different dosing schedules, cycling strategies, concentrations, and protocols.
That is also why nobody should copy a peptide protocol simply because they heard it on YouTube.
The Peptide Pros series is about sharing our experiences, asking questions, discussing what we have learned, and helping viewers better understand this rapidly developing area.

You 2 are going to reverse your aging.
Whats wrong Goldfinger? I hear you got yourself in a Pickle.
I'm out!
Really enjoying the series :))
Sorry, I couldn't watch this. The high-pitched voice makes it difficult to understand what you are saying.
Is mounjarou effective for weight loss?
I completely agree with the sentiment regarding the high-pitched "chipmunk" voice filters used in the video; it feels like a manipulative tactic to distract viewers while pushing overpriced peptides. It’s frustrating to see influencers act like medical professionals just to upsell products that can easily be sourced directly from the same suppliers for a fraction of the cost.
Wow. lay off the helium guys. 🤣
The Chipmunks voice thing was too much for me.
