My Parents Forgot My 30th Birthday—Until They Saw the $58K Audi I Bought Myself

Erika has spent thirty years watching her parents celebrate every milestone in her sister’s life while quietly overlooking her own. When they forget her 30th birthday, she finally decides to celebrate herself—and makes one expensive purchase with money she earned.

But the moment her family realizes how well she’s actually doing, their attention suddenly shifts. Then, at Thanksgiving, a spreadsheet appears beside Erika’s plate with an expectation no one bothered to ask her about…

A family drama story about toxic family dynamics, parental favoritism, money, boundaries, and what happens when the daughter everyone overlooks finally stops saying yes.

  1. Some families never "get it!" How stupid of them to think that not both of their daughters were very successful in very different ways. Parents and siblings both need to celebrate all family members and their accomplishments equally if they expect to maintain a good relationship with everyone! Not celebrating a family member's birthday, at ANY age, and then not saying they were sorry when it was pointed out, is not forgetfulness, it is blatant disregard for that person.

  2. This let's discuss. The fact that I bought a car as a family must be an Asian thing. I can buy a car without discussing it with my family and if my family want to discuss it I would say you know f you

  3. Forget them they are not entitled to anything you make. Let their damn golden child take care of them. Why should she pay for her damn sister's tour let the damn parents pay for it.

  4. Why would a purchase SHE made with money SHE earned warrant a family discussion? She is an adult, obviously standing on her own two feet. No way I would have gone to that family dinner.

  5. I'd have blocked sis completely after the meeting. LOL! I'd be done and blocked them all. The best thing about this story is the background actually following the story including Leavenworth Washington.
