why is there a u turn on the freeway, this is the dummy turn
All because they didn’t want “Texas” in the name???
This is like creating an on ramp and adding a stop sign right before a merge. How are people who are used to normal roads supposed to know these NM "special" rules they created because they can't actually design anything?!?
Stupid….they added another dumb U turn….just as dumb as the circles….if you don't know where you're going…. don't drive
What is the scenario where you need to make a u turn on the interstate ?
This is news? This is the news of a city that long ago gave up trying to do anything exceptional. Don't move to Albuquerque if you're an exceptional person. Find a city that will value your talent, skill, dedication, and perseverance. Albuquerque will only beat you down for it.
I can see the rage now
So they spent millions of tax payers money to save a minute and still have to wait for traffic at the stop smh 🤦🏽♂️
With a stop sign? It's supposed to be a continuous lane that drops you back on to the freeway.
Jefferson is the intersection that needs a total rework
The whole point of those turns is that you don't need to stop! Why the hell did they not make the lane long enough to merge? 🤦♂🤦♂
They aren't just in Texas, everywhere I have seen them, there is no need to stop.
In countries like Switzerlands rds are made specifically for semi' ,it reduces accidents. Has anyone ever thought to design rds specifically for sems?
They better make the merge a protected lane and remove that dam stop sign.
The only DashMart in Albuquerque is right there by ihop and NAPA. You will have delivery driver traffic coming from there to southbound I-25 24 hours a day.
Meaning: always expect to stop at that stop sign before the on ramp there.
It would have been more helpful to see a schematic or at least an aerial view with marked arrows. A high speed zoom down the lane isn't very useful. Fun for the camera operator, maybe.
Every car don't know how to pull out then turn haha
They work pretty well many states that use them, shout out TX. We're just dumb enough to put them in so late. Not to mention they'll probably be 20 years past due once they're done. Please vote Greg Hull if you want to see any type of change at all
Choosing Texas
Congrats New America! How awesome y'all honored "Q"/ Anon by naming a traffic feature in their honor.🤣
Thank you, Texas!
Now every vato in this town can do a Tejano u-TUUUUUUNR! 😎
I’m glad we took a good idea from Texas and used it in town. Not surprised we’re giving it a special name, since we are petty AF when it comes to Texas.
Glad to see the work progressing!
Excellent! Thank you!
The Duke Loop ❤
Thank you TxDot for designing and sharing such an efficient method for traffic flows. Plus, it's worth mentioning, that this turnaround has been open for over quite some time.
