Is there any significance at all to his name being "Orange Robinson"? It seems so odd to me, I wondered if there is any significance to either the color orange or the name Robinson for Japanese speakers.

I'm just gonna throw a huge guess here. I might be misunderstanding some parts of it.
Client X could either be the wife of the family in the photos or a relative of the wife. It could be that the wife was wronged by her husband, which ends up with her passing away, and the "cursed photo" was her distorted image. (A lot of the photos sent were images of a father & his kids. None of the mother. There's a female on the last image and a couple more in the fast montage of photos, but I'm not certain if that was the mother, a second wife or a mistress.) Repeatedly imposing her image onto the family photos and sending it to the said family will eventually make em think that it's cursed and that belief can mold into something unpleasant. Unfortunately, Orange Robinson & his boss fell victim to the power of mental imprinting after the many times that they've taken X's request.
