Adobe’s $26 billion subscription business is facing a serious new threat from AI.
In this video, we take a look at how a solo developer reportedly recreated Adobe’s Creative Suite using AI, made it open-source, and released it on GitHub.
This raises serious questions about the future of subscription-based software and what it could mean for companies like Adobe.
We also explore how AI is changing the SaaS industry, why traditional software advantages are becoming less valuable, and what businesses need to do to stay competitive.
The message is simple: businesses that fail to adapt to AI risk being left behind.

Adobe will own nothing and be happy.
You're absolutely spot on, Mark! But regardless of how this plays out, I believe the companies that consistently deliver an outstanding customer experience are the ones that ultimately retain their market share and customer loyalty. Unfortunately, Adobe seems to have lost sight of that principle and walked away from it a long, long time ago.
The developers and designers and other staff that work at Adobe will soon be finding new work.
I just canceled my 69.99 monthly subscription after I downloaded ArtCraft. Just save 840 a year. Now I can make money on my YouTube channel. Brandon is a hero. Robinhood style. Bye bye Adobe. Good luck.
Someone do this for ESRI ArcGIS
so should I feel bad for Adobe? tehehee
The greed is beyond comprehension. They charged the people who lost their homes in the Pacific Palisades fire 10% more than regular price to stay at hotels/motels.☹️
I would not say destroyed but that it has one foot in the grave and the other foot on a banana peel.
No need to be perfect. Just start it and get it to a good shape. Let community level it up.
As someone who has a graphic design degree, it a nice save on the pocket.
I've been using Photoshop since before Adobe owned it and am GLAD they're finally being dumped.
App sharing is what MADE them so successful.
So you’re swapping one subscription for another?
Winning?
Aren’t the same people running software companies, running AI companies?
You should probably calm down.
Did this developer infringed their patents?
Who in their right mind would get a subscription with Adobe anyway…
I have been in the IT industry since the mid-nineties and have retired. Software companies have been ripping people off for years. My wife has a small bookkeeping business; she has been paying thousands of dollars to QuickBooks and Sage 5o, now they have moved to an online model. The online versions hold your data hostage until you pay. All desktop versions are grandfathered; online data will not load on the desktop app.
In a way, I'm glad it's happening to Adobe because it's the most dishonest vendor.
Adobe Reader is torturous to ordinary people.
Come on … you AI guys get excited so easily: Currently PhotoCraft is more like a Gimp version with a mockup of a Photoshop GUI. And we are hearing "Just wait a few months …" since OpenAI released the first version of ChatGPT back in 2022.
As soon as the Craft tools are stable, Adobe is done.
Coding has become democratised. Software is not hard to make or scarce anymore.
Adobe deserves all the bad shit that's coming to them!
