How did an F-15 land with only one wing?
In 1983, an Israeli F-15D lost most of its right wing in a training collision with an A-4 Skyhawk, and the pilot landed at about twice the normal speed without knowing the wing was gone. This 3D explainer shows the collision, the fuel vapor that hid the damage, the afterburner and body lift that kept the jet flying, and the high-speed landing.
