The original cast of “A Different World” sits down with TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones and guest co-host Justin Sylvester to talk about the upcoming reboot of the iconic hit show. Jasmine Guy, Cree Summer, and Darryl M. Bell open up about how the series inspired thousands of people to go to an HBCU and reflect on the show’s lasting legacy. “We were only the second show in the history of television to debut at number 2 and finish the season at number 2…It was the beginning of must-see tv,” Darryl says.

Glad the show was renewed for Season 2 – They all look Great, good job!!!
Whitley is a beautiful woman inside and out!!
Debbie Allen turned this show around in season 2 of the original series
CHEYNEY U IS THE REAL HILLMANN
Cree's braids look so hydrated and healthy.
I hope they have MANY seasons ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KAREEM IS STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought Hillman was real until it was time for me to pick a college, and I found out it wasn’t. Went to an HBCU though. Lol❤
I used to leave work early in '04 to go home amd watch the reruns at 4pm. Good times
Good ol days…😢
Freddie don't look too good 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
Loved a different world liu Brooklyn campus or York college nyc you can get a mixer of a different world
I was a kid every Thursday night.
Love Jasmine Guy and she looks amazing keeping her looks true and her beauty shines through. This new show is just too good!!! Love the chemistry of the older and younger. WHAT A SHOW!!! Well done for merging the memories with the new. Love Dwayne and. Whitney reboot! Just too cute all round again. New cast are just as good as the previous show's cast. Now watching the old show all over again!
I'm sorry to say that the reboot was trash.
How is Cree only 57??????????????????????????????????
Cre’s shoes!!!!!! Baby!!!!
Sheinelle’s cohost is nauseating! Let the cast speak and stop with the over the top flames!
🤐
Daryl Bell has aged WELL!!! I'm jealous – heh. We are the same age, and he looks at least 15 years younger than I. Amazing.
Why did OG Different World felt it was authentic in 480i resolution and reboot Different World feels like its artificial in 1080p/4K resolution ……..and I'm a millennial 😆
Unfortunately, they are not the original cast…
I could cry. I went to college because of these people. 🙏🏾
I was 3 years when it debuted in 1987 watched it when it end and still watch the rerun. Dwayne he carried those same flip glasses on the movie white men can't jump.
These reboots are unnecessary… Hollywood can’t create new shows without relying on old shows?
It’s trash and degrading. The original brought an INCREASE to college enrollment. This new crap is a waste and not supportive but destructive. Hopefully it’s off the air soon.
Can't take sugarman
