Civilization doesn't really need computers. So why sell them at all?
Computers are political, not scientific. Unintelligent people learn through emulation. They even grow genetically in size through emulation. Before you know it they have moved in an entire family of emulation, and ruined your business prospects and you have no way to see or distinguish one from another. Computers raise the bar just enough to prevent a family of emulators from moving into vitally needed arenas of civilization.
