Marcia was the prettiest of all her friends..her hair and outfit is so cute on her..so was her down to earth personality once Peter's volcano erupted.. LOL
In the originalal script, the Booster's first order of business wasn't Marcia's application but the removal of the black girl who we learn was only let in to win a watermelon eating competition.

Nothing wrong with Peter for trying a science experiment but he should've made sure nobody was going to be in the surrounding area of the volcano.
