Trucks cant fit in garages so thats out and cameras normally dont deter thieves at all they just steal even with cameras

Tail gate theft is also very common now. With thieves removing the various truck manufacturers' tailgates in a matter of 2 minutes. Then sell them of Facebook marketplace or Craigslist for around $600-$800 apiece.
Doesn't the newer ones have the locking tailgate like the older models?
No one mentions LOCK THE TAILGATE, which is access to the screws…
surely a high end Ford has a locking tailgate?
Also the lane detection/etc may be traceable back to vin & ECM that it was stolen from

I solved this problem by owning a 2003 Chevy Silverado.
Maybe the police can try a little follow-up. Those are being sold by someone to third parties. This requires some level of advertising. Check out all the online stores locally and bust the guys selling them.

I do believe the new pickup trucks the tailgate locks when you lock the car recommend locking your doors
So thieves do not care about cameras or lights usually. They even look at the cameras with full face exposures. They know they will get booked and released, no real sentences or time in jail.

Easy fix really, cut off the thieves hand. Does 2 psychological things, 1, people see a POS with one hand, you KNOW he's a thief and 2, serves as a mental deterrent to NOT STEAL because NOW there's consequences 🤔 👋
