Here in my country our elevators do self checks and reboot automatically even after long outages/unstable power…
…when the buildings lose power, the screens show emergency safety mode then use backup batteries and slowly bring you to the nearest floor before shutting down—without human intervention…
…springing back to life again within minutes once power resumes.

Being in a wheelchair, I look at being stuck on any floor and being told to use steps as jail time.
Reset the breakers, people. This is a basic task all building managers should be able to handle.
