🇮🇳 RANJIT BAJAJ WAS RIGHT? NO MINERVA ACADEMY PLAYERS IN INDIA’S U-15 WORLD CUP SQUAD!
India’s FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026 squad announcement has sparked a major debate among Indian football fans. Why has not a single Minerva Academy player made it into the 14-member India U-15 squad? And what does this mean for India’s campaign in Azerbaijan?
In this video, we discuss the controversial squad selection by AIFF and head coach Bibiano Fernandes, Minerva Academy’s impressive international youth football achievements, and Ranjit Bajaj’s earlier concerns about the team’s preparation and management.
🏆 WHAT WE COVER IN THIS VIDEO:
🔹 India’s FIFA U-15 World Cup 2026 squad selection
🔹 Why no Minerva Academy players were selected
🔹 Ranjit Bajaj’s concerns and whether his warning deserves attention
🔹 Minerva Academy’s Helsinki Cup and Gothia Cup victories
🔹 The importance of experience in international 8v8 football
🔹 AIFF and Bibiano Fernandes’ approach to player selection
🔹 Can India compete against Bahrain, Cameroon, Grenada, Laos and Senegal?
🔹 Is India prepared to adapt to the FIFA U-15 World Cup’s 8-a-side format?
🔹 What this controversy means for the future of Indian football
The FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival introduces a different challenge, with teams competing in an 8-a-side format. Minerva Academy’s young players have gained international tournament experience, but the national squad has been selected through AIFF’s scouting and evaluation process.
The key question is whether India’s selected players can adapt quickly, compete confidently and deliver strong performances against international opposition.
Was leaving out Minerva Academy players the right decision? Should experience in international 8v8 tournaments have carried more weight in the selection process?
👇 COMMENT YOUR OPINION: Was Ranjit Bajaj right to raise concerns, or should Bibiano Fernandes be given the benefit of the doubt?
