歌うまいなぁ
字幕オンにして観ると、デモテープ以降の会話は、通常の会話含めて全て文字化けしてるのね。
撮影者(ゴーストライター)が作詞作曲した曲で我が物顔でデビューして、どんどん遠くへ行く彼女を恨んだ話か。
「ハト 爆音」って動画を観た直後にこれを観たもんだから、肝心のシーンで笑ってしまった。
もったいない食べ合わせをしてしまった。
考察関係なしに、このシンガーソングライターさんが歌っている楽曲「都心の夜空」をフルサイズで聞いてみたいな
これ都市伝説の「暗い日曜日」もモチーフになってると思うんだよな。天気予報が日曜日の天気で、
指名手配犯は、見方によっては後追いに見えるし
隠しリンクでコウカ歌ってたのリエコさんだったんだろうな〜
きのこ帝国とか佐藤千亜妃とか聴きたくなった
イヤホンでみてたら泣いちゃった
トロイ込みだとこれが十二本目だけどシーズン2はリエコで終わりなのかな？
無名の頃に付き合ってた、または片想いで彼女のために作曲や作詞の協力をしてた男の恨みみたいな事かな？
プロデューサーと妙に距離感近い感じなのも寝取られみある。
今まで観てきて、幾つか分かった（かもしれない）ことを整理してみた。
・本当のRIEKOは、誰かに『鏡の中の人』もしくは『カルトの儀式により、呼ばされた異世界の暗殺者』に取り憑かれてる。だから、RIEKOはもうRIEKOじゃない
・『鏡の中の人』だとしたら、こっちの世界と接するには媒体が必要。それはビデオ、録音電話やカメラみたいなもの。要は、人間の目だと見えないから、別の手段で存在感を知らせるため
・『カルトの儀式により、呼ばされた異世界の暗殺者』だとしたら、召喚するために、七日間死体を一定の状態に維持しなければならん。そして、そのプロセスをビデオで撮っちゃだめ
・どちらも「目」に関係性があると思う。人間の目やら、技術的な目やら、彼らと目を合わせると「観測されたからとある状態に固定されちゃう」。量子力学みたいな
・取り憑かれた人は人間らしさを出すために努力してる。だから1999年のRIEKOはまだ赤ちゃんみたいで言葉さえも出れずあのデモテープを作ったわけ。彼女のビデオを撮った人は恐らく『鏡の中の人』を彼女に移った加害者、もしくはカルト関連者。その一年間ビデオを撮りながら、『鏡の中の人』を強制的に観測しつつ、成長してることを記録／証明してる
・儀式は他にも色々ある。『鏡の中の人』を撮れた写真（顔が歪んでる）を他人の写真に重ね合わせるとか
・人間の肉体により作られた石炭はとある儀式にとって必要なものだと思う。『トロイの木馬』に出てきた箱は人間を石炭にする道具かもしれん、その時周りに黒い物質が沢山残されたから。池澤さんのお母さんもその犠牲者の一人ではないかと
・死んだ子供の絵によると、大昔太陽と月は何らかの輪に囲われて、バランス良く地球を守ってきた。ある日、その輪の一部が壊れて地球に落ちた。それを発見した人々はカルトを作り、死者／『鏡の中の人』をこっちの世界に招待することができた。しかし、『鏡の中の人』は人間を取り憑い、人間を殺して再生される
・最初の犠牲者は、キムラヒサコという女性ではないかと。彼女に『鏡の中の人』に取り憑かれた後異変があった。そのせいで、鉄平の実家は「呪い村」になったんだ。恐らく、彼が書いた「僕の昔の村の研究」はキムラヒサコについての異変のことだった。なぜなら、「でも、（キムラヒサコの）死体はなかった」。そして、村内の放送で「これは緊急放送です。キムラヒサコさんの遺体が上がりました。避難してください。」だったわけ
・『鏡の中の人』『異世界の暗殺者』『こっちの世界に来た死者』に関しては、『決して目を合わさないでください』ってこと

・カルトはあの同窓会ウェブサイトの写真からターゲットを探してる。ターゲットになりそうな人間にソースコードで◎△をつける。隠しリンクから誰が見つかったかを他のカルト信仰者と共有してる。しかも、重ねて重ねて深いところに隠されている存在は、キムラヒサコだった

[個人的な考察と解釈]
・撮影者の男は、売れて自分のもとを離れたリエコを恨み、彼女への復讐として呪いを行った。
・Qでは、同じ行為の反復によって現実に干渉する呪いの儀式がたびたび登場する(『来訪』『ヘルタースケルター』『テイク100』『オレンジロビンソン』など)
・約50本のビデオは、その反復儀式の過程。雑誌のリエコの顔やデモテープの音が歪んだのは、上記過去作と同じく呪いが成就したサイン？
・呪いが成就すると対象はどこか(地獄？)へ連れていかれることが何度か示唆されている。そのため「死亡」ではなく「消息不明」になっている（『MOTHER』の母もそうなのかも？）
・男の指名手配はリエコ失踪への関与が疑われたため？ 最後に男も遺体となったのは、呪いの代償と考えるのがストレートだが、『トロイの木馬』のセリフにあったように誰かに儀式を見られたことのペナルティとして亡くなったのかも？
This channel has the best horror content I've ever seen. Always subtle, no jump scares, and open to interpretation. Horror with closure, fully explained plots with antagonist motives ruin the mystery that makes a story stay with the viewer. I love this channel so much.

補助役の教授のゼミ生としてリエコに似ている？人がいるんだけど、偶然かな？
舞台設定も、同じ1999年だし…
文字化けの「あなたにとって死とは 受け入れなければならない」みたいなのって多分リエコ側から男へのメッセージっぽいよな。
Rieko went to the Crossroads. Great underlying atmosphere. This is Great channel!
Some points to consider:
1. The name "Rieko" is just odd. The Japanese name should be "Reiko" as in 玲子. Native Japanese names are never written in Katakana like in this case リエコ.
2. Rieko probably warped out of existence (or our plane of existence) like everyone else in the series who simply vanished / trapped in another dimension: The camera man in Helter Skelter, Fumio's Mother, the poor folks in Plan C, The Lady in the lift (Basement) and etc. The thumbnail seems to be a strong indicator of such an occurrence.
3. Making sense of the episode in a chronological order is probably counter productive: The stare scene at 12:09 is very reminiscent of the situation in the Cursed Video and Mindseeker episodes, where what you see in a recorded medium might never be what was actually captured. Besides, it's clear Rieko's position and stare is unnatural (from our perspective), like the camera man who became a scapegoat of an earlier trapped soul in Helter Skelter, devoid of emotion, just staring blankly into the void.
4. The flowers were arranged in front of the video tapes that were stacked like a tomb and not the bathroom. Hence, it's strongly suggested whatever that's in the bathtub was most likely not Rieko. It may appear to look like a body, but an inspection of torso + head proportions and the distance between them, makes it unlikely. It's probably just Rieko's shirt overlaying a pile of belongings that (like people who vanish in this entire series) left behind.
5. It appears that the broken Japanese subs from around 11:10 onwards were intentionally planted there because they do not appear in the english subs.

– the broadcast is suddenly interrupted by a cute "end of broadcast" screen

– there is something large in the tub, with a plaid design
– the person turns off the lights and closes the door
– the only clip where Rieko is not (at least obviously) visible or even referenced
OTHER MOMENTS:
The TV Interview (07:20):
– the setting is gothic and dark, similar to the creepy MV footage shown prior
– it is unknown exactly what date the interview took place, but it was likely shortly before or after the MV footage was filmed (depending on if the MV was a live broadcast, or a recording of a recording)
– Rieko mentions "a friend" sending the demo tape to a producer, and insists twice that she would never do something like that herself
– they listen to a demo that, for them, presumably sounds normal (mentioning hearing cars, guitar clicks, etc. that we as the audience can't hear)
– we hear audio different than what they heard, of a woman wailing and screaming as a guitar is poorly played
– (thanks to Japanese commenters) we can make out distorted audio that says the following (11:34 – 12:01)…
"What does death mean to you?"
"I have to accept it. The time is approaching."
"No one will hurt you."
"I don't want anyone to touch me."
– Rieko repeatedly glances towards the camera before fixing her gaze on it
– the interview cuts off and we are back in the 1999 Kitchen Footage (Rieko is in the exact same position, almost as if she was teleported there)

WHAT WE KNOW:
– November 2018, a wanted criminal was found dead
– about 50 videotapes were found in his apartment

– every video tape was the same footage (of Rieko)
– the video tapes were numbered, and either had "Rieko" written on them, or characters from her name
– the footage shows a young woman becoming a professional singer
QUESTIONS & SPECULATIONS:
1. Who is the criminal?
– most speculate he is the cameraman who shot the original footage
2. What are the tapes? Why are they numbered?
– some theorize there is a ritual of some kind happening
– some say the stacking method & wilted flowers resemble a shrine
3. Who is the cameraman? What is his relationship with Rieko?
– most speculate he is the criminal who was found dead
– most speculate he was Rieko's boyfriend (or, at least, someone very close to her)
– most speculate that after she found success, they grew apart (possibly even broke up)
– many speculate the cameraman has a growing bitterness/resentment towards Rieko as they grew apart
4. Why is he filming? Does she know she is being filmed?
– the footage of Rieko sleeping, Rieko handing him groceries, and the under-the-table shot all seem insignificant – we don't know the reason for this footage
– the footage of Rieko's street performance could possibly be the demo tape from The TV Interview
5. What is the last room? What is in the tub?
– the last footage is also the last in chronological order
– it is the only footage without the mention or appearance of Rieko
– the room appears to be a bathroom with a large tub, with something large in the tub
– the thing in the tub has a plaid pattern, appears bulky and pillowy
– the reason for this footage is unknown
OVERALL:
Most people seem to think Rieko & her boyfriend grew apart/broke up after she became famous, and that the tapes are cursed, but beyond that we don't know much!
My theories are that either the boyfriend used the tapes to someone un-do her success/fame and keep her with him, he killed her out of jealousy and sadness, or that she even possibly did some kind of ritual to gain success.
In "Helter Skelter" we saw how the mother's increased payments/orders from the VTC would yield enormous profit margins – maybe Rieko did something similar, something on-par in Western culture with "selling your soul to the devil for fame", essentially!
With the way Rieko appears back in the 1999 footage identically to her interview 2 years later, I also wondered if that was somehow part of the ritual, as if he was able to summon her back in time with the footage or cursed tape? It also made me wonder then, if the last song she sings about "If I didn't know, I'd still be happy" was almost like Rieko sort of semi-knowing her life was re-written!

The TV presenter reacting to the demo like a Night Vale citizen listening to the weather made me laugh out loud. I like the way these videos play with the idea of what a recording does/is when it's not being directly experienced, kind of existing in a dead state until it's called back.

Genuine shivers when Reiko stared into the camera/stares at the viewer in the end of the interview clip & into the cut to her home(?)! Excellent set up for a dread-inducing final moments& another testament to this channel’s grasp on engrossing & fresh horror storytelling/storycraft. From the set up highlighting the “wanted man” & possible identity as the recorder filming all the VHSs, I went in & for a while thought it might be a Perfect Blue-esque stalking tale. It still may have that aspect but the supernatural element pushes it into the truly frightening for me personally as someone who doesn’t often find horror solely about human killers like stalkers & serial murderers scary. To theorize on that note, I wouldn’t be surprised if the wanted man was a stalker, gathering all that documentation of Reiko’s career (& private life too considering the clip of her asleep) all for him to pour over obsessively & maybe went on to ultimately kill Reiko at some point. Afterwards, never getting over his obsession, he keeps & regularly watched his Reiko collection until her vengeful spirit cursed, corrupted & haunted them and obviously him in kind – Reiko’s ruthless grudge warping the video & having her stare right at him while viewing the interview footage.
I’ve been waiting almost a whole year, constantly checking back and waiting for the new one and it finally dropped! So excited

考察 ２番でMVの雰囲気が不自然に一気に暗くなる。ドクロやミイラなど。これはリエコが上京してからデビューして闇落ちしていくまでの過程を歌った曲のように感じられた。
The thumbnail seems to imply that Rieko is trapped in the video tapes. It's also odd that Rieko's name is written in Katakana. EDIT: 11:30 an Industrial music banger for sure.

リエコって、BASEMENTの最後にエレベーターに乗り込んできた2人の内の1人に見える…。 50本近く積み重ねられてた同じ内容のビデオテープって、ダビングする度に地下にどんどんパラレルワールドが形成されていって(50層分のパラレルワールド)それぞれの階で何度もリエコとの幸せを掴もうとするけど裏切られ続けた結果…。やっぱ無理があるのでいいです。w ただ同じ女優さんかな？とは思いました。
怖かったです！特にリエコがカメラ目線でこっちを見ているシーン。
もしかして彼氏は悪魔(地獄)と勝手に契約してリエコの願いを叶えたとか？成功の代償としてリエコは地獄に囚われた。だからカメラ目線で睨んでいる。ダビングテープを使ってリエコを現世に取り戻そうとしていたのかもしれない。
今さら気づいたんですが、『Flower Offering』でも花が使われていましたよね。
これも何らかの儀式だったんじゃないでしょうか？
『TAKE100』みたいに同じことを何度も繰り返すことに意味があって、『HELTER SKELTER』も死者を呼び戻す儀式だったと考えると、もしかして全部「死者をこちら側に呼び戻す」ための行為だったりするんですかね……。
そう考えると、『RIEKO』でリエコがこっちを睨んでいるシーン、余計に怖く感じます……。
新作の喜びと次回までまた数ヶ月待たなきゃいけない辛さ
