In this review, I’m testing the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra’s durability, new Armor FlexHinge, massive 8-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy performance, 200MP camera, battery life, One UI 9 multitasking, Galaxy AI features, security, and more.
I also put the battery through my own screen-on testing, compare it with the regular Galaxy Z Fold8, and talk about one of the biggest questions surrounding foldables: can you actually trust a $2,000+ folding phone as your daily driver?

I REALLY like the idea of the fold…but yikes…it scares me that the screen is going to split. My GenX eyes are old…so it is really hard to deal with even my big 21 Ultra 5G phone…
I don't even know how to do 90% of what you are talking about here, but I need the big display for my poor old eyes.
I use a Benks case on mine but it does have that snap when you open it. Not to mention it doesnt open fully flat. It has a slight curve when opened.
Traded my ultra for the wide. Very happy now
Watching on my Z Fold 8 Ultra. I love this phone!! Tbh now it's really hard to pick up my iphone.
3:33– better than Samsung care, consider a credit card that offers cell phone protection against theft or damage. That's one of the main reasons I keep an American Express Platinum card.
8:52– any gaming you do with physical controllers? I've never really done mobile gaming because I don't like touchscreen controls, but with this massive display, it just seems you have to do it, it'd be a waste not to. So I want to start, but with physical controllers
I'm trying out the Fold8 Ultra because the Samsung flip series phones are too wide now. I'm really sensitive to larger phones and want one hand usage as much as possible.
The Flip6 was perfect for one-handed use, you just needed to have the right kind of case w/ a loose strap that allowed hand movement up and down. The Fold8 ultra is only 1mm wider than that, so hopefully this works out. I've got a loose strap case en route from Hong Kong via eBay.
The z fold 8 ultra is my first foldable and I love it. It took me a while to jump on the foldable band wagon but I don't think I can go back now. Cameras are good enough for my needs. Productivity is my priority for my devices.

I'm still on my fold 2. And whilst the crease has a bunch of scratches on it, the screen is still totally fine. I thought it would have died a long time ago.
Not worth unless you can install graphene OS on it.

I am coming from a Fold 5 and went with the regular fold 8. I like it better for watching widescreen content on the inner screen than I did on the bigger fold. This generation of foldables is great, but I really miss the under display selfie camera.
SAMSUNG is STILL the KING of screens.
The only major issue with the Z Folds this year are the colors…….GREAT phones but thi syear colors are not that desirable which is a first for them. They usually have at least a couple really attractive colors.
