Is there away to use my kholer drain while using the kerdi or schluter system?
Thank you
Watch a professional like tile coach and in all his videos his work space looks clean and professional. I understand trying to do things quickly as a contractor but watching you is painful. Some of your waterproofing videos looks like a 6 year old got into the thinset.
I’ve said this before about this guy but you sir have no concept of housekeeping. You’re working in people’s home and also trying to teach people. Atleast try to keep things clean and looking professional. Just this quick video you still purple primer all over the curb and pan. Keep in mind that primer and foam don’t go together. As a home owner I would start thinking twice watching you prep my bathroom.
i'm lucky all mine are on crawl spaces…just set it all up and hook the plumbing up after the fact
Finally! Ive been trying to figure out if i can set the shower tray in place before having the plumber deal with the drain. The rough-in is like 3 inches tall, and i do NOT trust myself to do it! 😂
Use an impact driver to run the saw. No falling out of the chuck like it might from a drill.
Tape the cutter on the drill also.
Make sure you recess your screw heads. Don't understand how Kerdi continues to sell. Thinset is NOT waterproof. There are much more reliable products that are truly waterproof. Their linear drain system delaminates as well. NEVER will I use Kerdi… be careful.
Used the 3/8 makita file sander to chamfer the end of the vertical pipe while it’s down in the hole. Also clean up the less than perfect cut the inside pipe cutter makes.
Kerdi drain slides right on 😊
A tape measure with a magnetic tip ,will get those back when they drop down the pipe
Too bad their drain isn’t like Flo FX.
Do you flood test it and if so how long
Much easier to use a pipe reamer, they work fantastic
What do you think about hydroban system
They have spacers for that.
The shower system is for pre schoolers
How do you this to a regular tub drain that not coming straight up the ground. Why not set it up for a real drain that is most commonly used ?
How much play do u have trying to level your drain?
Did you use enough primer? The customer will see that mess even with the grate cover installed.
I have shared your video with WCB as the recommendation for my leaking floor drain was installed 10 + yrs ago and they did not use any of this equipment but just siliconed it into place and needless to say the worst happened later on. I guess the old saying goes? “A little putty and a little paint makes it look like it ain’t “😂
I’m not sure why this short popped up. It just so happens that you answered a problem I was going to have to tackle tomorrow…and was literally quietly thinking about the what ifs when I tackle the drain
Crap material….
Push a cotton sock in pipe prior to cutting, prevents anything falling down during cutting.
Remove sock with coat hanger fish, or shop vac.
Personally I would never tile a floor on a backer board. Poor a base
All these comments make me laugh
They have inside cutters with a stop so you can more accurately cut
I always duct tape my inside cutter to the Chuck of my drill so if for some reason it comes loose, it won’t go down the drain.
Still surprised that they NOT recommend some Kerdi Fix around the drain. Don’t all say “thin set is not waterproof “?
Thank you for taking the time to show me the drain connection!
Can you charge as a plumber when you install these drains. Also, do you need a license? 🙂
Does the drain pipe need to be perfectly centered in the shower pan cutout? My abs drain pipe ended up 1/2" off to one side.
Should i detatch to white foam pullout circle and slide it over the 1/2" to be evenly under the flange?
You did screws wrong …
I usually cut up a rag that fits snug into the pipe and push it down so if the inside cutter falls out the rag will catch it.
Nice…you can also dry fit the standpipe coming out of the ptrap..makes for an easier cut without having to use the inside pipe cutter
