I would think that the point is to get scp -035 onto scp 173. The mask always destroys it's hosts. Besides the corrosive substance that it perpetually leaks, the mask somehow degrades the physical structure of its host in unknown ways. The corrosive black liquid of the mask isn't enough to destroy Scp -173. The mask generates the stuff constantly and the fluid can be collected. They would have dropped scp -173 into a vat of the stuff by now, if it worked. The masks curse may be strong enough to eventually destroy 173

If SCP-173 accepts SCP-035 it coud be placed in it's enclosure to permanently keep watch over SCP-173 making it truly contaighned for as long as SCP-035 keeps it's gaze on it.
Doesn't SCP 173 have slight telekinesis to stop it falling over there was a test and bla bla bla, it didn't fall over very easily. So it could just pull the mask off the victim then stamp on it or something 😆 🤣

This means if you let the two together there will be no problem of the scp killing someone from not seeing because the mask is seeing him and the mask can't look to another side

The only other option I see is the mask over-riding the sculpture's ability to move when unseen and move around however, and becoming a very very dangerous combo.
