EVERY insurance company is a fraud. And the politicians made us have these liars “at a discount” for nothing. They pay noting. They approve nothing. I have a $2000 deductible and can’t afford to still go to the dr. I have to keep this stupid insurance or I get fined. Gee. I wonder if Obama and the like still get the kick backs?
To answer all the nay sayers here, it has to do solely on the insurance companies and how they categorize brest cancer surgery with plastic surgery, they do so as to not having to pay for a cancer treatment as not having to pay for an enhancement. It would be like having colon/rectal cancer surgery and the insurance company billing it as a butt lift and consequently not paying for it. That hospital is out of network with all the insurance companies because they don't want to play that shell game that insurance companies do to not pay for legit cases.

If the center is world class then why don’t they negotiate and become in network with BlueCross of Louisiana? Providers that choose to be out of network with insurance companies understand that they can balance bill a patient if they are out of network so they choose out of network to make the most money by getting paid by the insurance for what is considered an average rate for that market and then billing the patient for the remaining balance that the insurance did not cover. It is u fortunately a common practice, this is why we need a universal set amount that can billed for any kind service, then it wouldn’t matter if providers are in network or out of network. If prices were federally mandated and enforced for every market, so many people wouldn’t get into medical debt. The cost of healthcare should not be so expensive, the pharmacy and medical industry has gotten so out of hand on pricing, it’s just perpetuating the inflation. If and insurance company has to pay more money to out of network doctors offices then of course that insurance company will have to increase their premium rates, how else is the company supposed to make more money in order to pay a provider when they submit a claim??
